So around 3:00 am i was awoken by a paper burning smell to find my cart on my auto pt was melting.. this freaked me the heck out! No clue why it decided to stay on.. But anyways unplugged my pt, unscrewed my cart and dunked it in a glass of water to cool down. ill have to take a picture of it but a very unsettling experience.

so let this be a lesson folks! UNPLUG YOUR PT BEFORE BED!

Holy Cow! Thank Heavens that it was only that that was sizzling and you caught it in time. Yes, ALWAYS unplug your devices. Another note: take atomizers and cartomizers off your units before bed. I had a mod that decided to power itself on. I'm glad that I was still at my computer when it happened. I heard my atty sizzling and had to unscrew it really fast. I took the batteries out and then replaced them just to see if I was losing my marbles. Sure enough, after about a minute, the power light came on. I got it repaired but it could have been a disaster if noone was home and it happened.

Isn't this company great ??!! Within 10 minutes Steve was there to offer replacement ! Love it !! Wow, I'm such a sound sleeper I wouldn't have been awakened by that smell, sorry to say. I always take everything off & unplug. I'm sorry Maxxout, it's always sad when you loose any of your supplies. But I'm happy you're safe my friend !!

Thank god you didnt start a fire, if I remember, there is something on the V4L site that says unscrew all carto's from batteries when not in use, just for this reason lol. I have done that many times in the past, fell asleep with my e cig on my bed and it melted the carto.

Actually, all the PT's ship with a sticker that says to unplug when unattended.

It is heavily recommended to remove cartos from batts when not in use also.

But but but . . . I just have to go to sleep with that one tasty lil vapor stick in my hand . . . It's my BINKY!!

I could never do it....my dogs would end up with a new chew toy.....

I just give my carto about a half turn to disconnect and put it on the table.....when I get up, just a little twist before my feet hit the floor and I'm good to go;)
