Yeah chantix makes you suicidal, much better alternative..... We live in a messed up world.
Is there anywhere to officially register that a person has actually stopped smoking because of the e-cigs? ...I certainly have and it only took a few weeks of gradually cutting down ...happened almost by accident too!
I suppose it depends on your definition of "quit smoking". If quitting smoking equals the end of inhaling tar, smoke and the associated carcinogens, then vaping = quitting smoking. If quitting smoking equals ending the inhalation of anything other than "pure, unadulterated air" then vaping obviously doesn't fit that definition. Personally, I have quit smoking by vaping. Then I quit vaping... It only took nearly three years to get to that point, but I'm done nonetheless. Sure... I realize my story is only anecdotal, but if it weren't for e-cigs, I know I'd still be smoking analogs. Plus one to the "e-cigs help people quit smoking" column regardless of how you choose to define it.
To say that it is far from safe is disingenuous, imo. So far, the research says it is a much safer alternative to smoking. Many studies have been done, thus far, proving this. The safest method is no cigs and no vaping, but to say vaping is far from safe is only fueling the fires of the likes of the FDA and ANTZ.

I understand that CASAA have a testimonials project that you can contribute to.
This is a useful resource because it refutes the general propaganda produced by the tobacco control industry, which says that ecigs don't work for smoking cessation.
According to the CDC, you are just an 'anecdote'. There are millions and millions of anecdotesGet yourself an Anecdote T-shirt - maybe use my design below -

what a cheek!Yes, these are being collected on the CASAA website -- and necessary to prevent the FDA from forcing us back into the dungeons of Big Tobacco. Here is the link, E-cigarette User Testimonials
After those 10 year studies are done, we will have more concrete information to make our judgements on.
I went looking for this Time Article. It doesn't exist. Where did you say you saw it? Link?
Here's a search of the term "E-cigarette" on Time: e cigarette TIME Magazine - Search Results
Other than reporting on the FDA, and not selling ecigs to minors, the only thing that might mention e-cigs not helping smokers quit is this one:

That was 7 months ago. Nothing except FDA and minor laws after that, and before that:

Can you name the article and give a link?
First link in Google.. E-Cigarettes Do Not Help People Quit Smoking, Study Says - TIME
So I was looking through my news feeds on my phone when I saw this tagline from TIME magazine that reads: "Study: E-Cigarettes Do Not Help People Quit Smoking. I read the article, and was at a complete loss for words. It infuriated me. Between the size of the group they used, and the little information given on the actual experiment that was done, I don't even understand how an article like this can be published. I'm sick of the fear mongering being done by the government and the media. People read these tag lines, skim over the article and take it as fact instead of speculation, and do not know the actual facts. There was so much misinformation and intentionally vague, undetailed information on the study that I don't get how these people can even be allowed to do these studies.
