Ecigs are a threat to the funding of Washington through massive tobacco taxation. They are trying to eliminate that threat.
They don't WANT us to quit smoking. They're counting on the recently passed laws to increase tobacco usage because people are going to smoke more due to the decreased nicotine content in analogs.

It's all about the money, and how much they can get away with taking from us.

I agree, but I think they are making a big miscalculation. More people are going to be forced to quit as smoking becomes more unaffordable. Finances are a huge motivator for me to quit. I simply can't afford to smoke anymore. So they are going to have to find something else to control and tax. And I have no doubt they will.

I'm fully aware of the uphill battle to it all. :( But when you think about it for a second, wars are not won by people saying "Well, the enemy is just too overpowering, lets not try". No, wars are won by people like General Patton who once said

"No ....... ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor ....... die for his country"

In the end, this is a war. And this soldier is making a point to make his mark on the goal. In which ever way I can.

God, I love trolling the Government. :D

The real public health enemies in the reduced harm tobacco/nicotine debate is not necessarily the FDA. The not for profit public health advocates is where a major problem has been. This would include the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, etc. These are not government organizations. They are privately funded. They get good chunks of money from Pharmaceutical companies. The same people making billions of dollars off of smoking cessation products. These groups have long since been fully corrupted by money.

The FDA is federally funded. In theory at least they should be a good deal more immune to the corruption of privately funded groups. There decisions should be on science as opposed to the emotional fanaticism seen in the anti-tobacco/nicotine groups. I'm not saying that's how it always works, but at least with the FDA there is a fighting chance. The FDA is not automatically your enemy. They didn't write the laws.

There are people within the FDA that are well aware of the concept of reduced harm approach to public health. The incoming head of the FDA, the former New York City Health Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, brought in the needle exchange program to New York City in the 90s. The program reduced the spread of HIV and hepatitis.

This was done over the loud cries that it would encourage drug use. She stayed with the more rational pragmatic approach to public health and we're all the better for it. The same type of pragmatic approach could work very well for tobacco/nicotine.

Exactly. When you stop and think about it, WHY is the FDA supposedly banning e-cigs? Because they're "unknown"? Yet, they allow a product that is KNOWN (to be a killer) to be continued to be marketed. It flies in the face and defies all levels of human logic there is.

But when there are dollar signs in the eyes, all logic seems to go out the window. Like I said in my video, maybe we should get some of our money back.
i dont care if they do ban ecigs i mean i do but even if they do i will still keep vapin ill go get my ecigs from china and ill bring them to all you vaporheads i will deliberately break the law for these things without these im pretty sure i would die of lung cancer no doubt about it the fda class action lawsuit should happen and i am behind you all the way and i nominate you bigjimw as the official vaporheads spokesperson... i just came up with vaporhead the new term WE ARE NOT SMOKERS ANY MORE BUT VAPERS!! A class action suit against the FDA claiming they've taken away our right to vape - not feasable...

Technically, they haven't taken away our right to vape. I'm vaping right now - my right to do so has not been removed.

If they ban e-cigs, they will stop the sale and distribution. They will not make use or ownership of the products illegal. They will not take away our right to vape. They will just make getting goods difficult.

Threading the needle, to be sure, legal loophole, absolutely. But in order to make these illegal to own, use, or possess, they need to make the dominant drug, nicotine, a contraband substance & that just won't happen.
