Hey fine fellows of the ProVari subforum!

I have been vaping for whatever it says in my signature. :) I absolutely love my eGo-C, even with the crappy cartridges, but so much moreso with cartomizers. I have been so geeked about this new hobby, I have been shopping around for tanks, cartos, juices, etc. almost constantly every day. However, I have decided to heed the wails of the disappointed all over the forums: I am officially saving up to get a ProVari. While I could trick out, mod, and slowly scale my eGo-C up, I figure I will save more money in the long run and be infinitely happier with a ProVari.

I would like some ideas here, though, in setting up a budget-friendly (a total paradox when talking about this device!) ProVari setup. I guess what I mean is that, besides purchasing the unit at the ProVape site, where can I go to get cheaper parts for the unit? I presume the extender cap and 2-3 batteries are all I need besides the device. After getting this device, I want to switch to a carto/tank setup. Do you all have favorites you could suggest?

Looking forward to your advice, guys!

Good move with the Provari!!! There is NO QUESTION that you will SAVE MONEY . Believe me, you will be hard pressed to find, on this board, anyone who has had more PV's than me. It will do everything you expect plus has the necessary meters to moniter voltage, ohms and remaining battery life..Plus, its built like a tank.....
With only 12 days of vaping experience, I can tell that you did your HOMEWORK and read the necessary advice.....Good Luck.....You most likely are/were a good student in school.....Vape On.....

Thanks Tom. I think I might actually stick with the two batteries, no extension. My eGo-C lasts me all day on a fresh charge, no problem. Rarely drop below 50% at my vape rate.

I am concerned about how absolutely huge the ProVari is, just in terms of lugging it around with me. I am not concerned with how it looks. Unlike the illustrious Phil Busardo, the more like my PV looks like a science experiment, the better!

Hehe. You know what. It is not huge. It is tiny. Very tiny, in fact. The only downside is the weight. Yes, it is very heavy. I, too, have a couple of ego-c's and I expected my self to continue using them whilst out and about. It's lasted exactly two days. Now the ProVari goes where I go. Well, that is with the exception of times when I am afraid of losing it (e.g. last weekend in Amsterdam) Enjoy yours when ou get it. It is awesome.

The Provari is on my short list as well for the ultimate vaping experience. Here's an important tip: Do not skimp on the batteries or the charger(s).

It is important to only use the batteries recommended by the manufacturer of any given device, get the batteries from a reputable source, and charge the batteries with a decent charger that is recommended for that battery size/type. The Provari is equipped with some of the best safety features available in the market, but all of those safety features do no good if you use substandard batteries or charging equipment.

If you need to save money (as most do in this economy), do so by buying your other supplies (cartos, juice, etc) in bulk or during sales events when you can.

I personally use VPX tanks. I have four in total and love them. They were quite pricey but I see it as a long term investment The moral is, pay cheap, pay twice. I have some cheaper tanks too. And you know what, I do not like them and I will retire them when they get empty. They slide off the cartomizer way to easily. I will be ordering a couple of Phiniac tanks soon too. I use 2 and 3 ohm boges in all my tanks and yeah they work great. I am pretty new to vaping, so, take my opinions with a pinch of salt.

If you're concerned about size, consider the Mini. In comparison to a 650mAh eGo battery, it's probably less than an inch longer with the same tank/carto attached. It's still....girthier, no doubt, but with a Boge carto, it's extremely pocket-friendly. I usually carry a spare 700 mAh battery if I'm going out for a long day, but it's rare that I've needed it. If you find that you need longer battery life, you can always pick up a cap and bigger batteries. Good luck!

Full Size Provari:
4.1" L x 0.90" D (stock 18500 battery version) (without atomizer)
4.6"L x 0.90" D (with 18650 extension) (without atomizer)

Mini Provari:
3.48" L x 0.90" D (stock 18350 battery version) (without atomizer)
3.98"L x 0.90" D (with 18490 extension cap) (without atomizer)

Looks like the Mini is about 15 mm shorter without extensions
And 16 mm shorter with extensions

I have two Provari V2's full size with extender caps. I also have Phiniac sandblasted glass tanks. The Phiniac tanks are wider than the top of the Provari and in fact fit my Silver Bullets better. I have taken to using the relatively inexpensive Smoktech tanks on the Provari's, they look like they were made to fit them. I do not vape acidic or cinnamon juices in the Smoktechs and I have had no issues with them. I use 1.5 Dual Coil cartos in all the tanks, regardless of maker.

Not yet, waiting for Phiniac to come back online. I vape cinnamon and peppermint mostly.

It's done. I have, in my hands, my first ProVari v2 with an extender cap. This thing makes my life complete. I never knew my cartos could work so well!

I cant wait to get mine... maybe two more days!!! Did you get a tank for your cartos?
