Just got my ego-t in the mail and it's not performing quite as well as I expected. I really thought I had done my homework on getting these things to work well. Heres what I did:
Soaked both atty's in iso alcohol for a few minutes, then rinsed and blew them out a dozen times, give or take, and let them stand for a half hour or so. They came with some kind of liquid all over them that seemed to come out without a problem. Did a couple really short dry burns. Checked the wick level in the spike - seems fine as far as I can tell. Filled a tank, plugged it in, let it sit for 10-15, took a couple dry drags on it and fired it up.
Initially it wasn't very good at all. Little vapor and a pretty strong burning flavor. I got a needle and poked a couple holes around the edges of the wick which improved things quite a bit, but I'm still not getting the flavor nor the vapor I was expecting from it.
Also I've apparently blown through almost 2 tanks in 3-4 hours or so, which seems pretty extreme. I mean I heard they were juice hogs, but damn! No leaks either, that was my first thought but I've kept an eye on it and it's dry as can be aside from some condensation inside the atty.
Anything I missed? Did wrong? Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated. I have another standard atty and a LR one that I haven't touched yet.
Cheers
