OK, today was the first day I needed to replace a part.

But silly self was cleaning the mod, as is my custom every week. I lost the spring somehow. Just got back from the hardware store. Have a new spring. Their spring was too long, so we cut it exactly in half. Now I have a spare. Total cost: 44 cents, gas not included.

THIS is what I'm talking about! User servicable! Thanks, BadNinja!

Get yourself some wire that is used for wire feed welding, it comes indifferent gauges and is inexpensive. You can then wrap around a bolt or screw to form any size spring you may need.

Figured I would add this as it reminded me of this thread.

A few days ago I ordered the top/ bottom caps on fasttech for a SS nemesis. 9 bucks. They are replacing the ones on a mod I bought some 2 years ago for 15 bucks. Good luck finding parts, at any price, for a years old regulated mod.

And if I couldnt find them, I think another 15 bucks is a fair price to pay for something I abused regularly for months on end and kept going.

@Bad Ninja

You use these? Anybody else?

Yes I have about 6 of those.

I also have 1 of the vv ones;
the vv one is the one i happen to be using at the moment; it is a bit bigger plus it's wrapped up, has 2 contacts for the negative instead of just one, and it also has a magnetic contact for where it contacts the battery positive so it kinda holds on to the battery,
