GP Paps clone, if you can find one. They are my favorite; I got 4 of them LOL. No, not willing to party with any :D

They are brass not copper, but take to patinas very nicely.

Here's a few really good mechanical clones that I have personal experience with and like. Keep in mind some are not for beginners and some are kinda hard to find:

Not listed by order

King dusted clone
Caravela clone
Nemesis clone
Chi you clone
Emma clone
Grand vapor M16 clone
Vapelyfe hybrid clone
Launcher V2 clone ( excellent mod! Hard to find)
Hammer clone

For vapers with experience with mechanicals :
Dimitri clone
Cherry bomber clone
SMPL clone
Silver dog hybrid clone
Valkyrie clone
FU Hatten clone

For the very crazy mech loving psychopaths:
Luna sea mod clone.

LOL no mine are ringed. I've grown to not mind it so much, and I'm using the switches on my JM 22 tubes more and more anyway :)

Not a fan of the Caravela clones at all, but a lot of people like them and they are so cheap now, no reason not to try one. They definitely look nice.

Launcher is great, a shame it got discontinued, but the BioMech is a nice telescopic with copper contacts too. The top contact pin is too big for the insulator, so it's stuck in there, but a little filing made it float nicely. Not quite as heavy as the Launcher, but still solid and still hits great for a telescopic just like the Launcher.

And go figure, I like my FT SMPL better than my authentic.

Hey Ninja, do you know anything about the Focalecig King 2?
http://focalecig.com/Product/King-V2-StyleMechanical-Mod-19407

Thinking about this one since the FT one's quality seems to be very iffy.
Honestly there are several companies that make the clones sold by FT and FC and it's hard to tell which is which.
I have two from fasttech, both the same SKU, same item, but clearly made by totally different manufacturers.

Focal is pretty good about their mods, and they have great customer service if there's a problem when it arrives.
I would say yes, and go for it.

BadNinja; who makes my King mod? (From your recommendation.)

Have no idea.
Not even sure who made all mine.
Lol

Here's the thing. Those clones are all very close to identical. I usually check the breakdown pics to be sure they are made right. It's an extremely basic mod design. No tricky buttons and what not.
Other than that the biggest issues are small QC things.
Janky spring, ect. Which can be easily replaced.

Woo-Hoo! Spool of 28ga Kanthal in hand!

Where to start ... gimme a coil, any coil. OK, something simple.

Just for fun.

28g is the most versatile gauge you can get, good job. Dual or single? Doesn't matter...

For a dual try two 2.0mm coils (5/64"), 6 wraps each for 0.5 ohm total. Should give you 27 - 35 watts.

For single, same thing but just wrap one...will give you a 1.0 ohm coil for mouth to lung RTAs. 13.5 - 17.5 watts.

If you want lower resistance I would get 26g and 24g. Fewer than 6 wraps with 28g is too few IMO.

OK, slight problem:

My positive screw and my 510 screw are not quite making contact. I see there is corrosion in the inside hole of the 510 connector, where the pos screw turns in. I've tried baking soda and a pipe cleaner, but to no avail.

It makes me have to press very hard on the fire button to get a vape.

How can I clean out the corrosion, and do I have to buy a tube of No-Ox-Id to prevent it happening again?

Thanks!

The copper center pin screws into the delrin insulator, which screws into the top cap of the mod.
Be sure the delrin is screwed in a the way. You should be able to adjust the center pin way way up.

That's no problem. The problem (I think) is the corrosion accumulating in the hole in the 510 screw, where the pos screw screws in. Everything seems mechanically sound, but there is a conductivity issue. It only fires when:

A) I press real hard.
or
B) I change the length of the pos screw to get things to where electricity flows.

Thoughts?

Is try a heavy cleaning with never dull or metal polish.
Then work a SS threaded atty through the threads going slowly but firmly.
