Cotton wicks make a difference :) was gifted a couple by another ECF member who had rebuilt the coils into micro coils with cotton wicks

a bad day at the track is better than a day of not running at all

Thanks for that :D I'll give it a go. I'm not quite ready to make my own coils yet, but I would imagine just rewicking my existing coil with cotton would have the same effect :)

Yeah, pretty much. Just remember, when modding any coil, always use a meter! And always bring a Towel!

A meter is a going to be my best friend when I start my own coils. I want to upgrade to a mod with a built in meter, but when money allows, etc etc. I just pictured that towel doing crack

Every time someone complains about the protank ll people swoop in and offer up all the quick fixes and analogies to why it doesn't work properly. Well...you shouldn't have to take something out of the box and do anything except start using it. First thing is I don't want to keep my protank "topped off" to make it work properly because I may not want to vape another tank of that particular flavor. So I could pour the old flavor back into the bottle right...No, because it's burned up like any and every juice I put in it whether it's clear or dark or high pg or low pg. I've had 2 protanks for almost 4 months and there's no fixing these things. They're gonna gurgle they're gonna leak on your battery they're gonna burn up your juice they gonna burn thru your coils and they're gonna work great for the first vape of the day after you dry your battery replace your coil and put new juice in them! I put the top off of one of my wifes evods on to my joy tech ego (where my protank used to be) and it works great been using the same coil for a week and it hasn't even started to blacken the wick and the battery last 3 days. I was about to give up on ecigs because though the evod worked ok I could drain the battery in no time but I have found the perfect combination by swapping the heads.

I KNOW! How dare all these insensitive PT fanboy and girls try to help anyone get a good vape for that PT! Can't we all just get along and use the very same clearo, carto, RBA or RDA?

I am being very facetious cause I think trying to help each other is the reason most of us hang around here. The only thing that I have found to 'work right out of the box' has been Pall Mall Light 100s. Vaping is a hobby as much as a very tasty way to get off smokes.

I have days where everything I own seems to flood, gurgle, burn or just plain fail. I often go to a fresh carto in my DCT Pyrex tank or a new head in my iclear 30 to get through those days. I have my 'go to' devices for times when I just want to throw everything in the trash and go buy a pack of stinkies.

On the other hand, I love the PT2 and the Aerotank. I have had bad luck with the evod clearo, the MT3S clearo and the original PT. Now I have found two clearos that work first time, every time so far. All I have to do is make sure I have a good head available to replace the old when it is providing decreasing returns. I can change the head even with a full tank of juice. I don't fiddle with mine. I am going to begin rebuilding the heads soon. I don't like paying the cost of the replacement heads and a micro coil with plain old cotton wick is supposed to improve flavor. So, why not?

BTW, just PM me if you want to rid yourself of those nasty PTs. Anyone else who is disappointed in their performance. I will try to buy a few off your hands. I would like a few more.

Gee Bud, I guess you are right the Protank is a terrible product that no one in their right mind would or should put up with. Thank you so much for enlightning all of us poor fools that have and continue suffer with this obviously inferior product.
I also offer my apoligies to you and all others that I have offered assistance to for having prolonged their suffering with this obviously inferior product.
Your testimonial on the virtues of the evod have shown me the light. I will now trash all of the Protanks imediately and follow in your footsteps toward Evod Nirvana.

The reason that the PT2 minis worked so well is that they they use eGo threaded bases, which made it far more difficult for the device they were screwed onto to produce an undesirable restriction in airflow than the 510 threaded full-size tanks. The problem with minis is that they don't gracefully attach to larger devices that only have 510 threads and their rather limited juice capacity. I don't know about you, but I prefer not having to fill my tanks more than once a day. ;)

I'm still filling the full size 2 or 3 times a day. I really love the minis, but it's more like a snack for me.

well, you guys who vape like gorillas aren't gonna be satisfied with them. :p but i only vape about 3 ml per day so they suit me just fine. maybe they need to make a maxitank2 for you. ;)

Never did like the pro tanks. After experimenting with every single tank. Ive settled with Cartomizers and Iclear30/Iclear30s

The iClear 30 is the only clearo that I really like for 510 devices. It's the only one I've had that hasn't leaked a drop in the 10 months I've had it.

Evods aren't to bad lol that's what I currently have, but would rather have a pt..my stepdad had one and has no problems with it(btw EVOD hurgles a lot, had to put extra rubber piece on upside down to help and even that don't always work XD )

Just my own opinion. Move on from Kanger. I have also had sooooo many Protank problems that I am just done attempting to use their tanks. Pyrex glass is only worth so much work.. And the protank certainly passes that point of too much work for what its worth. My suggestion, look into Innokin tanks. Iclear 16 for it's small size is absolutely incredible! I have not a single complaint in the world about an Iclear 16, aside from it not having a glass option. If you want something bigger, both the Iclear 30 or 30S are great! 16 wicks!
