After using my VVN for a few weeks I've decided I don't like it. Sometimes the flavor is awesome, sometimes there's no flavor period. I'm getting nasty dry hits, using heads like crazy, it's started flooding pretty regularly. I hate how the post is to long and it sits sideways on my PV. So, I've ordered my 1st carto tank. Got it from Valley View Vapes. It's a 4ml Pyrex tank. I ordered the premium tank with aluminium caps. I also ordered a pack of pre punched and tested boge LR carts. He was out of stock of the SR so I'll pick some of those up later on. Hopefully this will be a good glass tank and I'll get plenty of good use out of it with good flavor and vapor.

I switched from boges in tanks to vivi novas a couple months ago. I'm now finding myself switching back. I've been rebuilding my heads with different cotton materials and sometimes they work awesome and sometimes they don't. The boges work consistently all the time. It gets frustrating wrapping a coil only to get an E1 error or it works great for a few minutes then the error shows. too easy to short out. I'm not done with them by no means... but I'm also not done with cartos in tanks like I thought I might be. I've just been too lazy lately to mess with recoiling.

I run single coil Ikenvape cartos in all my tanks, some LR some SR, and even some 3.0 ohm carto in my regulated 5 volt mods. About the only cartos I know of that I haven't tried are the titanium coil cartos...don't feel like buying 100 just to try them and haven't found a US vender for them yet. For me the single coil just perform better than the dual coils do.

I just switched to the Ikenvape Mega Platinum punched cartos. Sweet vape!!

Also agree with Absintheur that the single coil cartos are superior to the duals.

Dual coils are just too harsh for me, they often gave me burnt taste. Although I'm certain I kept the polyfill wet enough, I suspect that the upper coil didn't always have enough juice to it and would burn the protective paper that surrounds them inside the carto. Dual coils = good idea that didn't work out in real life. In addition, they drain batteries faster than single coils.

I'm 100% with all of you on this one. I know there are rabid VVN fans out there who will die as martyrs for their favorite tank, but I have to admit, the carto tank system has been a mindblowing experience for me. I didn't know how to prime them correctly at first, so I ALMOST threw away my first DCT tank. Once I figured out how they work... MAN. For once, for once in my three months of vaping (which is a long time for me, I try to absorb as much info and test as many products as possible in as quick amount of time) I could taste my ever beloved hallowed butterscotch. And taste it consistently. My VVN crapped out on me with my butterscotch within 48 hours. All three heads. I managed to revive one, but I only use it for my back-up juice, biscotti.

Congrats, that is the set up I have finally decided on after trying vvn's, etc. I love the fact that he will punch the boge's for you and test them before he ships them to you. Haven't had a dud from any I've bought from him. I had used smoketek dct's before his pyrex tanks and they would only last 3 days at the most. With the boge's from Ray, I just threw away one I had used for two weeks and it was still going strong but the flavor had started to go. If you consider two weeks for each boge carto in a box of 5, you're talking 10 weeks, or a month and a half per box.

His polypro tanks are very good too and at $7.99 per tank with a carto included, it's an excellent deal.:vapor:

Vape on!

I just started using IKV cartos. They've been great so far.

I have been using VVN exclusively for the past few months. I am debating whether to get another carto tank. The first 2 I tried were ones from MV, Smoktech. They would flood everyday. Is this still an issue?

Can't speak for anyone else, but the flooding has never been an issue for me. I've been using the smoktech pre-punched carto's with the tank and I've had great luck over the last 6 months. I believe a lot of the problems people have with the DCT from smoktech revolves around not prepping the carto properly from the beginning. There are videos showing how to do this and once you get the hang of it, which for me wasn't much of an issue, they work great and last a long time.

p.s. However, I am going to order one of the vivi nova's after thanksgiving and give them a try.

Nevermind. The site must have been down, but its working again. Any suggestions on what standard 35mm prepunched cart to get from them?

I've had good luck with the platinum line. They are a standard vertical coil carto. You can get them pre-punched if you don't like to punch your own.
