Ok so it is about time to order wire again and I have been weighing the options. I like stainless but I am thinking titanium this time. From what I see in vape tool app I won't need as many wraps as stainless. Which is a plus when I build a set of braided coils (love the flavor off of braided stainless) because I don't have enough room to get to .1 and up in my goon. However I have never used titanium so wondering what the good and bad of it is?

How do You vape, TC or wattage mode...or mechanical? Titanium is well for TC, not really recommended for mechanical, barely ok for regulated wattage mode.

At rising temperature the resistance of Ti rises much more than SS does.

Example (only to show the difference):

SS316L: 20°C - 1.00000Ω; 100°C - 1.08000Ω; 250°C - 1.20700Ω

Ti1: 20° - 1.00000Ω; 100°C - 1.29234Ω; 250°C - 1.84659Ω

Kanthal A1 and NiChrome80 are fine for me in non-TC-modes, but that is personal preference. The resistance of that wires stays nearly constant in vaping temperature range.

Here is a nice tool for calculating wires: Wire wizard | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

I've got a few Vaperesso Gemni tanks and I began using nickel coils. I've tried putting SS coils in them but each time I do I run into problems and put new nickel coils into the tanks. I do have a Smok tank with a RBA deck that came with SS Claptons, its 25 mm rather than the 22 mm so Claptons will fit in. It's been working good and delivers the flavor and vapor. I'll probably never get to titanium but I wish you luck if you try it.
