No shame here. The whole "rapture" business was invented in the 1800s by a disaffected ex-Anglican cleric. I think it pretty much died out in England, but boy-oh-boy does it still have its adherents in the U.S.I did see a funny bumpersticker a few years back: "Warning: In case of Rapture, this vehicle will be unmanned."
(Well, except for the presumption aspect, it was pretty funny!)

Actually the rapture, armageddon, etc. did not exist in the Jehovah based religions until they conquered germany and scandinavia... Ragnarok is their end battle between gods that would result in the breaking of the world.... It's a belief held by many who follow Odin, Loki, or any of the other Norse Pagan god...
Well folks, my world did end today. I am no longer with you. I am looking down upon you now.
