To my ECF friends...where I've been...

I've missed y'all!!!!!!!!! 'specially my boyfriends T-Bob and Mr. Darcy!

Has Kit's lovely lady had the baby yet? What did I miss?

Oh, by the way, this is what I've been working my ... off on. My second book to benefit our local Komen Affiliate.

https://www.createspace.com/3359185

It's pretty funny, if I say so myself...and I don't make one dime off of it. All of the money goes to help breast cancer patients. I'm kinda proud of it.

So now that that's over, I can keep up with the new and improved stuff. Still puffin on the kissboxes and 901's. Was puffin on cigs too, but gave 'em up again because of atrial fibrillation. Doctor finally pinpointed the problem to low potassium levels which I am predisposed to. I've had it for most of my life, so I'm on prescription potassium supplements and I feel better. Unfortunately, cigarettes triggered a lot of the arrythmia, but haven't had that problem with e-cigs with low nic. I do just fine on those.

So what's new in the world of e-cigs? I'm sticking with the kisses and 901's because they work for me....but I haven't read here in months so I don't know if any new and improved stuff has come down the pike.

I'm looking around...and you're right about that. Freakin' weird in here!

Hey Karen, T-Bob, Kate and all of the rest of the veterans. I hope you don't look at my posting here as me busting up your reunion or busting up a vet only thread. I am extremely new to e-cigs. Joined ECF and purchased my first e-cig in early January this year. I have noticed that a lot of the veterans here have mentioned a few times how the forum has gone down hill, not the same, used to be better etc. I was just curious what has changed. What you guys miss. What it used to be like. The only thing I can think is that maybe there is a much larger community now and it is less personal and family feeling?? I dunno, I am just curious. Please don't take me asking this negatively, I am just a new guy that is curious about how and where it all went wrong.

P.S. Karen, your book sounds like it would be a really fun read. I also commend you for doing it all for the breast cancer cause! It's too bad there aren't more good people out there like you....the world would be in such a better situation!

I like it better now Sanner. It was a little too quiet before and too few people to diffuse explosive situations with strong personalities.

There are some great new people around with interesting things to say and fresh ideas.

Maybe it used to be like a (dysfunctional) family but it's a pretty sound community now in my eyes.

I am glad you are happy with the way ECF is turning out Kate!! I guess with the explosion of the forum and e-cigs the only way you can look at it is all of the new lives that may be being saved with these things. At the same time, like you said, more people means more ideas. "Two heads are better than one".

Yes and it's inevitable that membership will expand and that older members will get a bit burned out from some aspects of the discussions here.

I'm more enjoying the social aspect of the forum than gathering information nowadays, when I first joined I just wanted to learn about vaping. I suppose it's a matter of adapting to changing circumstances because one thing is for sure - nothing stands still.

That's an accurate observation.

ECF is now a social club. Once, it was a place for sharing and learning. Now, we get potentially meaningful threads disintegrating into cat photos and LOLs.

ECF was a dysfunctional family -- excellent analogy -- and now it's not a family at all, just a bunch of strangers riding the E-Smoking Bus to who knows where. Is that better? No. Family always comes first.

Six months ago? Much better place to hang out. It's hard to find the serious material today amid the frivolity, ignorance and anger.

Hiya, i'm new here. May be why you think it's got kinda weird. :)

Did the doc to tell you to eat Bananas? Good source of Potassium.

Don't think Banana flavoured e-juice will have much tho....

Welcome back by the way.

Oh yeah. Told me to eat nanners alright. I've eaten so many of them, I think I'm turning into a monkey! HOWEVER, he did give me a nice list of other stuff that's rich in potassium. Who'd a thunk that avacados and sweet taters were? How COOL!

To answer the other question...it's weird because it's a LOT more active than it was in the past...a lot more threads...a lot more people. Not that it's a bad thing...it's just weird because e-cigs weren't this mainstream when I started posting. Look what's happened in less than a year. So yeah, that's what's weird.

This place has been better than therapy for me! I'm amazed at how much information is available in these threads. After smoking for nearly 40 years, I thought I'd never quit, until I found e-cigs and this forum.

Just as in any family, there will be disagreements, it doesn't mean there isn't love.

That's an accurate observation.

TBob, I'm really sorry you're so put out by the growth of this forum and the new people coming here to learn and discuss. I'm sorry we're not all as experienced and knowledgable as you, and you've had to put up with our redundant questions and "ignorance." I'm sure most, including myself, had no idea how you really felt about us. Thanks for the honesty.

Welcome back Karen and good luck with the book. It's for a GREAT cause.

Welcome back Karen! We've missed you.

In regards to the forum, yes we've had a lot more members join. I don't mind it so much and from what I can tell, things seem to be mostly on topic. Like Kate I go on here for the social aspect and of course to see if anything revolutionary comes out.

We're a bigger family now and I don't think that's a bad thing at all. We spearheaded this and we're helping people who prefer an alternative to analogs.

This place has the most knowledgeable facts, help and support from all over the world. Kate was right before, as quoting this place to be a solid community, just because this forum acts now as a central place of e-cigarettes in its entirety. There's no reason why families have to break apart. IN a solid community is there not just One family?

I know you don't Need me saying this T-bob but as Kate was saying "Nothing stands still" Life is alot like water, you'll never which way the current will take you, but be prepared that it will take you.
I don't hate you or resent you in anyway but
I do have respect for you. Even though you probably see me as an invader or a newbie or any other unmentionables :) I still enjoy reading your posts and hearing your aspects. I'm not going to apologize for what this forum became, but I would hate to see you go and I wish you would reconsider.
