...out of a 10ml bottle, that suggests ~10 drops per ml.

That's not been my experience.

No it's not accurate but it is a quick way to track percents for small mixes to test new flavors or new recipes. For example, say I want to try a recipe someone has posted.

1. Inawera x 4%
2. TFA x 3%
3. TFA y 2%
4. VZ x 1%

For a 100 drop mix I just do 4 drops of 1, 3 drops of 2, 2 drops of 3, 1 drop of 4 and 90 drops of base (from a 30ml bottle). The different bottles will have different drops to ml ratios, but it should still be close enough to allow me to test the mix and make adjustments if I want.

Also, the total amount will probably be 3.5 to 4 mls and I like testing in small batches at first. I can always measure more precisely after I finalize the recipe.

I'm not sure who came up with this but it might have been Bill over in the TFA thread.

Encouraged by some of the posts from you guys, I went for full flavor at 4 drops per 10ml without further dilution. I noticed a vast improvement in flavor, and despite all the warnings at ECX's website, nothing happened to me ..... Thanks everyone who made the suggestion. I did notice something that I already knew before - and that is going from say 5% to 10% did not actually double the taste. It only improved it moderately. Sometimes it even diminishes the taste when you go higher than a certain %. With that in mind, for those interested in reducing coil gunk, it might be best to start with 2 drops per ml and see how it tastes. You can always increase the drops later if necessary.

Anyone know how it compares to Burley Beard?

This has been my ADV for over a year and it's quite delicious, slightly dry, slightly sweet, very genuine tobacco taste. Velvet Cloud does their own TA extractions though. Definitely worth a try if you guys enjoy the flavor! I might get into DIY just to figure out how to make something similar.

I have no idea about Burley Beard but all I can tell you is there's a lot of great tobacco flavors available now so I'd advise jump on into diy. Start by opening a thread and posting a profile on Burley Beard and see what suggestion you get, then go from there. Between Inawera, Hangsen, and others plus the ta's you're almost bound to come up with some flavors you like just as well or better.

I am so glad that someone has started this thread thanks Exchaner:vapor:

Pleasure Dixie. In case you are considering this flavor, I would do a comparison between suppliers. Got mine from ECX, and although the taste is great, the label lists food coloring as an ingredient. I guess that is one reason it looks dark brown. I am considering the Samara brand as suggested by Danny to see if they use food coloring in their product as well.

I have Nude Nicotine's Tobacco and their Honey Tobacco. They say they are both absolutes I think that they are because of the sediment in the bottom of the bottle it came in. And believe me it is dark. I do not care for the flavor Virginia at least in FlavourArt, so nice to know there maybe other tobaccos used for tobacco absolutes.:p

I sometime mix it with a NET to enhance the flavor and save on costs. Some of the NETS are very expensive.

Yep. Thanks to Exchaner for the thread and Danny for the link to the Samara Rustica. I'm hoping my order will be delivered tomorrow.

That's weird, mine came today. I'm pretty sure you ordered before I did. The paperwork that came with it says this batch is about 7% nicotine (aka 70mg/mL). It also has some directions for warming it (to liquefy). I think I'll dilute some and play with it tonight.

Yeal, I think the company is in upper Washington so it's closer to you. We're pretty socked in with snow here so I'm not sure I'll get it tomorrow. Hope they get the snow plows out early lol.

What color is the liquid? Does it say anything about food coloring?
