I've tried the ACV, distilled vinegar, lemon juice and all that... Some of these things help but so far, haven't helped much. So, I purchased VW since I've seen a lot of people happy with it and so far, it's ok. I haven't meddled too much with it because I am waiting on an atty to come in the mail. (I don't care for the atties I have right now for testing flavor) Question is... with the VW, has anyone tasted it on its own or have any idea of what it is? I ask because I do very small batches for my initial mixes (we're talking 3-5ml) and I literally added 1 drop (from the bottle) and it had a strange taste. It reminded of a cross between menthol and koolada. It could be the flavoring/mixture but I'm not sure. I'm thinking that the 1 drop may just be too much for such a small amount. (3ML)
(FYI, the batches I'm referring to are 70vg/30pg.. one was Royal from FlavourArt at 2% and the other was Mellow Sunset at 1%)

Maybe a drop off a 28ga.? I don't use over 1% VW. But I use it in nearly all my tobacco blends. Some only get .5% or .8%. Depends how sweet the tobacco flavor is. If it's sweet I lower the VW. It's not real sweet but it does add that perception. I never sampled it by itself because it really doesn't do what it does till you put it in a blend. But. I do get the same perceptions changes with koolada and menthol added in small amounts in a blend as VW seems to give. I don't use it with menthol, peppermint, or koolada. I also drop my sweetener levels when VW gets involved. Not much .5% maybe.

I also use it in all of my tobacco mixes, but I haven't gone over 1 drop per 5ml and it hasn't made a distinctive diffference besides softening the harshness of some tobaccos. I have never tried it by itself in a mix, though I have tasted a tiny dab on my finger and it seems to me like a tobacco flavor with a little bit of spice. Never tried koolada so I couldn't say for sure but it may be in there?
Maybe splurge a little on your next batch and make 5ml and a 3ml to see if the single drop makes that big of a difference?

I've used it in my more complex blends and it seems to meld those flavors together and smoothen the whole mix out. For example if one flavor is over powering the mix the VW seems to blend it in with the rest of the flavors. I have dabed it on my finger and to me it taste like tobacco. My understanding of it's usage is to blend flavors of different tobaccos together if you are making a mix with several different tobaccos.

I use it in all of my tobacco blends at 1%, I think it smooths and enhances the tobacco flavor- I heard on its own it has a unique flavor that one cant put their fingers on, but not good as a flavor.

I have not really gotten a Koolada kick from mine.

I think it is great stuff to have on hand for any tobacco user, and have heard of some people using it in dark flavors like vanilla or coffee. I have not really tried that myself seeing how I think it was intended for tobacco only.

Vape wizard? Yeah, I bought some. That's why I was asking. When I added a drop to 3ml, it had a strange taste to it, Almost menthol. And I hate menthol. However, I've noticed in larger batches, it seems to work very well. So I guess I just have to use VERY small amounts. Like 1 drop per 10ML or something
I hope that's not just me lol. It's still worth trying though and you'll probably wind up using a little here and there as needed. Let us know what you think if you order some.

I've noticed the same thing you are referring to. I'm wondering why you make such small batches? Are they simply "test" batches to see if you like the recipe or do you just roll this way?

You mentioned ACV; have you tried TFA "Smooth?" I use both but, and I like "normal" distilled vinegar and ACV, but perhaps "Smooth" is basically the same thing as "MTS Vape Wizard?" I've never been clear on that..

If I'm mixing something I've never made before, I'll make a 3mL batch. there's no sense in making a big batch if there's a possibility it will suck.

I do too (except I usually make 5ml "test" batches.)

What was confusing me was that I don't put any nicotine or any "enhancers/additives" in my "test" batches because I feel it best to try and get them as close to "great" first without them.

Thanks,

Norman
