Just a quick update for those interested. I was questing for a DIY flavor that was like the tobacco flavor delivered in prefilled cartos and I think I found it.

I bought a whole bunch of tobacco flavors from ecigexpress and the DK Tobacco Base is exact or very close to the prefilled tobacco taste. The key is to not over-flavor it!! I finally found that one drop per 3ml is perfect. The flavors are super concentrated and a little bit goes a long way!!

I also bought Max B Ultimate Tobacco (smells like a Marlboro cigarrette - pipe tobacco blend. Didn't vape that way though!)
Dark Vapure (real prefumey and tastes crappy)
Tobacco (REAL perfumey!!)
Dessert Ship (not too bad. Supposed to be Camel, but not really)

Just my .02

I just put an order in for a few flavors :) I've heard good things about Seedman, and they seem to have enough variation in Tobacco-related flavors to really help the "Right" tobacco flavor for any given mix.

I ordered:
TOBS11 Menthol Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS12 Commercial Cigarette Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS14 Captain Black Type Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS15 English Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS17 Rum Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS18 Honey Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS22 Cherry Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

TOBS23 Apple Flavor 1/2 Ounce Concentrate

Can't wait! :D

Derek, check e'm out gradually. They are designed to flavor tobacco, not to simulate tobacco. I find them perfumey and the 3 I ordered just sat there for months. The fruit flavors might be OK.

For me also they were not concentrated enough, it seems it would take something like 30% to flavor some base, as I recall that was what the aficionados were using.

Quitter, the history of the DK base is that someone found a label from a Dekang 50 gal drum, and there was a list of actual compounds. So a mixture of those was made, but it turned out the Chinese label listed all the possible ingredients in Dekang's various "tobacco" flavorings, and the "DK Tobacco Base", as they called the mixture, turned out to not reproduce the sought-after single flavor very well. I've not had much luck with it, except as you say in very small amounts. There's another called MLB Type that's so cloying you can't wash it out of anything. The best luck I've had in beating that nutty Dekang flavor is with FA's Desert Ship and Virginia as the main notes.

jdh: OK, I can come close. Now let's see, I have the desert ship and the commercial is coming, don't have the burley and virginia, so will substitute cuban, that's very close, ran out of propylene glycol, will use diethylene glycol, FDA says that's very close, ran out of nicotine solution, will use 5 ml of uncut tobacco absolute, Dan uses that, so it must be very close, to make 30ml?, I don't have a big enough bottle, will use 10 ml, that's very close. Taste smooth? ;-) Oh, wait, PGA? I still have a half of a pint of Jim Beam I was workin' on, I'm just gonna pour it all in there instaed of that 10 ml bottle, it's very close.

Yes, Dan THAT does help! Thanks!
I dont think diethylene glycol should ever be used, as it is My understanding that it is a toxin.
