Tobacco Flavors

I started doing some DIY, tobacco flavors from flavorart I have tried so far.

Perique Black, Latakia, both of these flavors I like, using at 2% in my mixes. Desert Ship also using at
2% I don't care for this one seems to have some floral note or something very strong. Any suggestions on trying some other tobacco flavors.

I like Maxboro and cowboy. Virginia and 7 leaves are pretty good if you like bitter. But I mix around 10% so mine probably taste a bit different.

I forgot I have tried virginia that one is okay also but the desert ship just has some kind of smell and flavor.

Perique black & Latakia are 2 of my favorites from FA. I like their earthiness. My other favorite is cuban cigar. It really doesn't taste like a cigar. It has more of a hay like, dry quality. I like to mix it with either of those 2. I've experimented with adding spiciness to these, ethyl maltol, and other flavors like black sesame and hickory from Perfumer's Apprentice. I just ordered some Totally Wicked black label tobacco concentrates to see how they are along with Decadent Vapors roasted nut and extra stout hopefully to add a maltiness & nutty element. I'm on a quest to make a great 555 that's like Frisco from vaporstation. It has hazelnut in it, but I've yet to find a hazelnut that I like.

I don't like the camel or maxboro because they either have a licorice/pine element that I don't like, or are too sickly sweet for my tastes.

Desert ship smells like wet hay :-(

I also like Perique Black & Latakia, but the 2% mix you use would be way to light for me. I use it at 15 to 20%.

You're really light compared to me too. I can't even get a tobacco taste out of PB or Lat until around 5%. Lat tastes like a perfume to me below 5, but PB is useful as a spice addition to other tobaccos at low levels.

I have some Desert, but haven't tried it yet.

FA tobacco flavors are the trickest flavors I have in my stash. Too low and it's a weird flavor and too high and it's another weird flavor. But hitting on the right level is a wonderful thing. Unlike most other flavors that have the hint of the same flavor when too low and only get weird at too high.

Desert ship doesn't start to shine until 10%, I use 12%. To me DS taste like Erinmore Pipe Tobacco. Most of my backy flavours are between 12-14% from FA.

Edit: I have also found that adding EM at 3% takes away the dryness felt from most tobacco flavours

Yeah, desert ship is hit or miss for me. I sometimes add a drop or 2. Lots of times I just put a mish mash of all the FA tobaccos in & see how it turns out.

So, has anyone ever found a malt flavor? And any recommendations for a good hazlenut? Don't like PA's.
