So I am fairly new to vaping, but I have already spent soooooo much money trying to find a good all day tobacco vape and have decided to give the DIY a shot.
I have bought from several vendors trying to find a good sweet(ish) tobacco flavor mostly with no luck though.
I like the stuff from vermilion river ok, it's just not going to be my all day vape, there juice kind of has a very slight weird taste on the inhale to me, kind of chemically I guess. Over all a good juice though, especially the Kentucky Premium Blend.
But, my last order has really burned me. I won't mention the name of the vendor for the sake of not blasting them, and I know a lot of people like them, but wow. I got in 7 of their "tobacco" flavors thinking that at least one of them would work...I was WRONG!
All of them had this disgusting leathery, plant like base taste that both gave me a head ache and made me sick to my stomach instantly.:-x I tried them all out on brand new sr 501 atty's and I'm pretty sure that my atty's are all ruined now because of the pungent flavors.
I am letting these wretched creatures steep in a far off closet to see if it improves, but my hopes are pretty low, I'm not sure any amount of time can save them.
I had a friend tell me that is a normal flavor for a 555 base, like I said I am still pretty new so i've never had a straight up 555 juice so I don't know if that's true or not.
So now I am afraid to try out other vendor's juice's because some of their descriptions are similar to the one's on the site I got the grass baby juices from ie woodsy, nut like, earthy, etc.
I am gun shy.
So I decided that I will make my own stuff, but am running into the same issues with the descriptions sounding scary to me, and not wanting to invest in a tobacco flavoring that is unbearable. I have a pretty good idea of where I want to get my other flavoring from like carmel, vanilla etc but have no idea where to turn for a tobacco that is good.
I have read the forums up and down and decided to just ask to see if
A. Anybody knows what would produce that flavor
and
B. What are some good tobacco flavors that specifically don't have that flavor.

The only tobacco juice I have loved so far is the infamous boba's bounty, and of coarse the gorilla juice is good too but they can get pricey, and I like to vape in cartos so the 100% vg of those two make it a pain in the .... to keep up with, so I want a good 50/50 blend.
I am also working with an amazing local vendor here in OKC (the vapor hut) and they are having some issues getting a great tobacco flavor as well. They make phenomenal sweet flavored juices, and novelties, and some decent tobacco flavors as well but are in need of getting a couple really solid tobacco juices to accommodate their main line of gourmet juices. So if I can come up with a good blend or two they said they would start to carry it, which is just an added bonus.
In short...please help!
Thanks.

Hello manasseh. I'm not sure how useful this idea will be for you, but if you go the DIY route, you could try using The Perfumer's Apprentice (a.k.a., TPA)'s DK Tobacco and RY4 Double flavorings mixed together. Since you're shooting for a 50/50 mix, perhaps try 3%DK and 7%RY4 Double. One more thing you'll need is (and this will sound weird, but bear with me here) apple cider vinegar (a.k.a., ACV). It's kind of a "secret weapon" for filing down perfumy or flowery notes in flavorings, and helps immensely with flavors like DK Tobacco. So, after you've made your final mix, add 2-3 drops (adjusted for your drop size) of ACV for every 5 ml of final mix that you end up with. I hope this helps you out, and best of luck with your DIY adventures. And remember, my friend; safety first. :)

Two I found looking for what I think you're after (buy smaller sizes to see ) are TPA RY4 "Double" and RY4 "Asian" I like them at around 18-20MG Nic, 70/30 PG/VG and 12% flavoring alone and even mixed together for a "change" . as always YMMV and tastes are very subjective

I've been wondering what the difference between the Double and Asian is like. Seeing as you seem to have tried both ,could you give your opinion as to what the differences are?

I will "give it a shot" at least LOL

To MY palate at least Double has a somewhat "classic twang" to it, more complex and a "bit of slight sweetness" than a China joose which TO ME makes it even better than " a classic RY4" YMMV

In comparison , the "Asian" is really hard to explain (other than I really like it) The closest "commercial RY4" , I guess is Ec Blend's RY4 (formerly Ruyan 4) - I honestly like MY DIY with this much better than ECBlend's (not that their's is not very good- it IS to me)

Do keep in mind I mostly vape both on VV box mod @ 4-5V (usually LOL) on a DCCT I have tested them on an Ego dripping on a 1.7 OHM atty and felt they were still quite good

I spent months and months trying to develop a decent tobacco vape using FlavourArt, TFA & Flavor West and I agree with Salem. The super concentrated tobacco flavors are far superior to any others on the market. I get most of mine from Vaping Zone and a few from ECX. The two lines are slightly different on their flavor notes but both are just as good.

To me the FA and TA are the ones that have that weedy marsh grass taste lol They are what turned me against tobaccos.

Thanks for the info. I have experience with (and absolutely LOVE) the Double, but now I think I will have to sample the Asian variety. :)

I agree as well. I spent over a year trying to perfect flavorart, flavorwest, tpa tobacco flavors and never could come up with a favorite.
The superconcentrated ones as mentioned above. No matter where you buy them...its fool proof and easy. I now have at least 30 or more tobacco flavors that I enjoy. I do steep for a few days to a week.

IF I had to pick one above the other I think the Double would be the easy choice, the Asian is not really similar but good and a nice change to ME... I have Never vaped so much juice as I have my Double recipe LOL it is "just right" I'm playing with some TA in the mix (and letting it steep - which is SO Hard to do with it smelling so great). I feel I got very lucky in making a juice (and on my first attempt at RY4 no less) that I love so much more than any RY4 I have bought!!! "Normal folks" would "quit while they're ahead" LOL guess I am far from "normal" :vapor:

Holy crap gang!
Thanks a lot for the info.
I hadn't been able to get on here since I posted this because we just moved, and they haven't turned on my internets yet.
But luckily a friend told me about tapatalk
I will do some research and look into the flavors mentioned in this post.
Thanks again.

Disclaimer: Post will contain alot of typoos

I have about 100 different flavours for DYI and im still hunting for the best "tobacco" blend. Whenever i get a new batch of 10 ml's i try them 1 by 1 in a fresh carto. 95% of the time i never try it again. Soo many of these taste like, ye lets be honest.. ....! And when you finally get close to something you like, after a while when it has steeped everything has changed again. Suddenly that batch you didnt like fresh, now vapes like a dream.. And the batch that you liked just becomes worse and worse over the next 10 days. FlavourArt has some of the best once for me so far. Im limited to buy flavourings due to import rules here so its easier to get flavours from all around the world and just experiment with them in my "lab". The closest ive come so far to an all day vape, and i used to smoke "mild sweet tobacco" is a mix of flavourart Shade, Virginia, Licorice, Artic Menthol and Guaiciol (from TPA). Some of these i use really low amounts of! I rarely get above 10% flavouring. Like Artic Menthol i dillute 1:5 and go with max 2%. Just to add some cool and i feel it gives more of a hit after its steeped. Guaiciol i never use more than 2% and thats with 0.1% Guaiciol which comes as 1% meaning 1:10 dilluted then max 2%. These flavours also creates a whole new taste by just altering one single drop so when i hunt for the perfect taste i end up making 20-30 3ml test tests with just a minor alteration to each one of them. Ofc i run into a bad streak with having something wrong in the base from the start but thats just how it is :) Oh and try Bitter Wizard from FA in your tobacco mixes. Cuts off that sweet after taste that i feel shouldnt be in a tobacco vape. Usually 1-2% is enough.

Thinking about it, you mentioned sweet tobacco.. Some "weird" sweet tobaccos ive tasted recently are Latkia (oops spelled right?) and Cuban Supreme (ye it does NOT taste like a cigar and defo not a cuban) which are both really sweet tobacco bases that you could play with.

Darke Vapure from FA also makes a good "base" but i dont like it, the flavours they have mixed with PG in this does not "blend" very well and all juices made from this "splits" and you can see stuff at the bottom of the bottles all the time and have to shake it up to get it to blend again, ye i was looking for an english word there but my mind froze.

Edit: By 10% i mean 10% total flavour in the whole mix. And some of these flavours are already dilluted 1:5 or 1:10 before using an % amount. Meaning that i probobly dont have more than 6% ish total. I used to run with 15-20%. And almost ran to the nearest gas station to stock up on the "real deal" again.

I've ony tried Super Concentrated B&H from Vaping Zone and so far it's really fine. It tastes like the smell you get when you open a fresh pack of cigarettes. I mixed it at 3%, 70pg/30vg, and it has a bit of sweetness for the first 2-3 days, then it dissapears. Very close to the real thing.

I quite love tobacco. The most "realistic" I have tried from a vendor was from Virgin Vapor. It really has that dry, almost "ashtray" essence. I think it would be really good for new vapers or those craving the real thing. It is supposedly made from organic/natural flavorings. I initially mixed mine with raspberry. All I could taste was the tobacco at first, it really over-powered the rasp., after a couple of weeks of steeping, the raspberry is finally coming through and is really quite nice. Good luck with your DIY. The most luck I have had with DIY was by steeping cut tobacco in VG/PG solution. A short steep results in that "hay" flavor. A long, two-week steep results in a much more "realistic" analog flavor.
