I just bought an authentic Velocity V2 rda and I'm loving it. I am just not sure if the way I decided to put the cotton in is "correct". If not, what's wrong with it?
When the cotton dries up it's perfectly even and I'm actually would think many hits with this much cotton. I was just wondering flavor wise of it would ruin flavor. It looks fine. Is there a performance issue?
Your are saying this specifically for the Velocity V2?That's certainly more cotton than I would use. You just want a small amount of tails touching the base.

What is the reason for that? I'm just trying to understand.Don't get me wrong, certain RDA's benefit from certain builds, but as a general rule I would use less when building any RDA.
But my RDA has plenty of air flow ability. Is it still limiting air no matter how much airflow I set the RDA to?Airflow. The more cotton used the less room for air to circulate.

Okay I believe I understand. Thanks a lot for your help.We aren't referring to air flow in. Think of it more as air circulation inside the RDA itself.
As it says above, you want the airflow and tails just in the deck offers more efficient wicking as well. You want juice drawn up to the coil, not puddled and socking into wick on the base.

Can you show me a picture of what you mean (if possible)? We aren't referring to air flow in. Think of it more as air circulation inside the RDA itself.

Okay. On a side note, why do I at times do I hear a hissing coil sound after I take a drag. I can hear the sound for 1-2 seconds sometimes. Not really but let me try and explain...
A packed with cotton RDA will get its airflow in from the outside, will hit the exposed coil and will then go into your mouth.
A non-packed RDA will get its airflow in from the outside, will then circulate around the coil and then into your mouth. Which will give you a good vape (build and amount of wicking in the coil dependant).
But it's not just the air flow. You want the juice to wick up to that coil as efficiently as possible. So for this a 'less is more' approach is needed.
