nothing like a self diagnosis on the interwebz:facepalm:.....OP go see a doc. Furthermore, continuing to smoke cigs isn't going to give you any dramatic change in health due to vaping. Sorry to be the bad news brigade but seriously...Go see a doctor because on these forums and any forum, everyone "thinks" they know everything and you can be severely misled.

Just as even good doctors can sometimes steer a patient down the wrong path. Speaking from personal experience, anyway.

And speaking of which.. not for nothing, but I don't know a lot of doctors who vape. They may know the basics of vaping, but do you really think they're going to suggest the patient try different brands & flavors & nic levels of e-juice? Perhaps to cut it with some VG from Wal-Mart?

At best he'll say to quit smoking, quit vaping.. Still having a hard time? Here's a prescription for Zyban...

Who better to ask than people who have already gone down this road?

And I don't recall every post, but there was at least one person (me) who mentioned that it might not even be related to vaping.

I have another question for you guys and instead of starting another thread I will just throw it in here: Ok so I can tell my lungs are defintely going thru some type of change from smoking so much vaper, I can breathe better even though I havent totally quick smoking, just slowed down quite a bit on the smokes. Although I have been coughing like a maniac because I lung inhale alot but I love lung inhaling. Question is, will my coughing stop after smoking vapor for a while or will you always cough a little smoking vapor?

I was a 2 pack a day smoker, and SWIM smokes a lot of weed. and if ur lungs were anything like mine ur gunna be hacking up some really nasty stuff for the next month or so, also your lungs are use to smoke not so much the vapor yet it can make u cough

And also, based on my experience, it could be a combination of things. 10 months ago when I quit cigarettes and started vaping, the only difference I noted was that my persistent smoker's cough went away very quickly. My juice of choice quickly became Cinnamon or Vanilla. Both of these are strong but worked well for me.

After about three months my cough came back, but it was much shallower and occurred while I vaped. I began to try to isolate the cause. I first reduce the PG by going from 80/20 to 50/50. This helped. Then I reduced the nicotine from 12mg to 6mg. This helped. Next I started cutting the flavoring my cutting my Vanilla juice to about 20% flavored juice and 80% unflavored 50/50 PG/VG. This too helped.

I am currently moving to eliminate the nicotine altogether. This final step has almost completely eliminated the cough. No other identifiable symptoms have shown up, so I think I have found the combination that will keep me off cigs for the long run,

Good luck to you in identifying your sweet spot that will keep vaping your answer.

A lot of the symptoms on here sound like my experience........ here's how it went with me.......

Yup, when I started vaping I was at 18mg........

when I really started liking vaping, I had to reduce to 12mg.... or else I would vape till I got 'numb' in all my extremities...

not getting numb and prickly feelings anymore, so it's not so bad,

although when I do vape a lot, I also find that I get tired, sleepy, and only sometimes get a numb and prickly in my extremities...

so I'm going down to 6 mg next week.........

its either cut down the nicotine, or cut down the vaping.......... i'm cutting down the nicotine

g

disclaimer? ok... I'm not a doctor in real life, nor do I play one on tv
