I recently go the wotofo serpent elevate, and it’s nothing but a pile of crap!
Have tried ss316l as a single and twisted triple and fused Clapton.

Different cottons as well.

It’s either dry hit he’ll or flooding and no flavour.

It works best when keeping the coil as high as possible before shorting out on the roof.

But I won’t be keeping this one, much prefer my engine 2!

Not enjoyed it at all and can see why it was for sale in the pre owned cabinet at the local store.

Will be going back in there.

Selling my VV revolver to, as it was a bugger to not leaked but the flavour was awesome.

Were as the elevate is just crap all round for me, so it’s going to.

Did you check the o rings? If it was used it could very well be a chewed up, nicked or missing o ring causing leaking.

My experience, and many others, has been more along the lines of @Jebbn

I’m getting great flavor, 0 dry hits (using max VG) and haven’t leaked a drop.

Will try that then and see

I have now replaced all the O-rings and fitted a new coil, plated and twisted 26Ag (3 strips) with 4 wraps at 0.32omhs.
Puff organic cotton, lightly combed below the 90’ elbow bend.

So far the first few hits flooded but then it dried out, haven’t had a dry hit yet but can taste it’s drying a bit.

Still muted flavour compared to the engine 2.

It’s now usable but still not really enjoyable

Gettin’ there :thumb:

After you wick it, did you make sure the wick was not so tight in the hole that it is choking off the juice? I use a piece of wire or a micro screwdriver and open up a little breathing hole.

Well I thought it might but after a few hits, it let’s do much juice through that I’m basically Drinking it like a straw.

So obviously I need more cotton which is odd.

Before I did the O-rings it was running dry with less cotton and no flooding.

Now with almost no thinning of the cotton, it floods.

Maybe try 2 more wraps. The coil looks a little short.

Well, that’s why there’s a top air thread. Bottom air RTAs are more prone to leaking and can be fussy about coils and wicking. Although, if done properly, usually give better flavor. As in all of life, there are trade offs.

I have a couple Revolvers and they have not leaked for me, but I can’t recall how I wicked them. It’s been a while. I followed some videos though.

How would that effect flooding?
I've had that happen to me where the wick was carrying the juice over to the AF hole(s). I found Matt's review and tutorial useful. He mentioned that the tails length was important to the blend of juice being used. Longer tails for thinner juice (70vg), short for max vg. That said, I have 70vg in mine now and everything is fine until I start chain vaping. It's not wicking fast enough for me. I might have to tweek some more but, honestly, them is some long tails! Even longer when your coil is short.

@Ben Killeen I haven't read through all the posts but another thing occurred to me. I think you said more cotton? Maybe more volume, less density? Not sure how you prepped your wick. Give your wicks the best treatment you can......

Anyone have thoughts on the CP TF? @Letitia you got yours?

I'm trying to decide if the flavor is on par with the Elevate. It's wicking better than my Elevate (but I may have to fiddle with Elevate more). No fiddling on the CP TF. One thing did happen that took me by surprise. I was filling fast and in a hurry. The hole is quite big enough but somehow I got a stream of juice pouring out whilst the tank was only 1/4 full! Not sure if an air bubble got in the way and didn't know an air bubble could be that strong:p Or if the bottle tip was jammed against the chimney? I can't figure it out but tipping the tank while filling helped. Strange.

Actually, although this sounds counter intuitive....you need to thin those tails by half at least, maybe more so than when you can barely see them sticking through the bottom. Keep cotton tight in the coil and the shoulders a little thicker than the tails. Start thinning those tails a lot. You would think it would not work but it did with mine. I was positive juice would run out the minute I turn it right side up. It did not. Trying cannot hurt in any case. and I have my airflow cut down also.

I'm okay with the Advken CP TF. Love the af, easy build/wick but not a fan of the top fill (pops open way too easy, home rta only imo). Not getting the flavor I get in the jk mini or nano.\, could be the build though, haven't played around much with the CP yet. Elevate is in the closet, good atty but just don't like looking at it. Not a fan of media blast on anything really.

Interesting....my top top fill is quite tight. My JK mini is still yet to arrive. Can't wait. Sounds encouraging.
