As in a Genny style design? I really like my Limitless+. Lots of air, decent flavor, easy to wick. and large volume. It does run through juice at a prodigious rate. The Avocado is also popular, but I don't have one to speak from experience. There is a whole Genesis subforum right below this rta subforum.

If new to rebuilding-and only familiar with clearomizers or replaceable-coilhead tanks....... you may be thinking 'top-coil' RTA is something other than what it is. Or I'm misunderstanding rhe question.

Are you familiar with Kayfun style RTAs or any of the ones just mentioned above? Because they are not all one and the same. I would recommend new users to definitely start with any type of single coil rebuildable that is NOT genesis style...but those Avocado style newer atties (if considered genesis style) do look easier to get working right than say the older RSST and such animals. That making any sense to anybody?

SXK Corolla v1.5 rta. Single coil, easy build deck, bottom air flow. Great flavor and cheap.

The choices are quite annoying as well lol. I was nearly settled on purchasing a billow v3 but now I've just been looking at the avacado.

is the billow v3 a bottom or mid coil device? Can anyone suggest a mid coil device as this may be a better middle of the road option?

As mentioned the limitless is my go to rta/rdta for flavor. That being said there are a lot of options in this style now.
Azeroth and the ijoy combo are just a few that spring to mind along those lines.
The combo may be a good option since it can be built many ways till you find what you like.
But your mod will come into play as these are typically run at higher wattage and will consume much more juice. Also if coming from an iclear you will need to run a lower nic.:2c:

Sorry, I'm confused by the mid coil device. RTA/RDTA are usually configured with the build deck (where you build the coil) either above or below the juice "reservoir". Juice reaches the coil through wicking which draws the juice either "down" from the juice reservoir (pretty much the construction of most RTAs including the Billow) or wicks "up" in the case of the Limitless/Avocado design. When you started the thread it sounded like you were looking for a "top deck/coil" design like the Limitless. The Billow is more in line with most RTA designs with the build deck at the bottom of the tank.

Yep, dont worry about top , mid, or bottom with RTA s. And be sure to look- ones like billow are dual coil only- much harder to build easily for newer builders. Just find a single coil that you understand how it wicks- and id say get some cotton of some kind in a smaller package to start out. Easier to get right, cheap, and then experiment n see where u want to go from there

Soon as you can build a good simple single microcoil, wick with cotton, in any of the mentioned atomizers, you will get plenty of TH and flavor compared to iclear30s and the like. Regardless of exactly where the coil is in relation to drip tip.
I used iclear30s for several months and they were easily good enough to keep me off cigarettes. Now after building and using only Kayfuns and other RTAs for years, its funny how they could have worked. Guess its kind of a gradual progression thing. One thing is for sure (to me anyway): nicotine in a liquid vaporized by proper device and inhaled--- is just simply a FAR FAR better and safer and simply superior way to enjoy your nicotine habit compared to smoking the burning leaves of tobacco. Like comparing raw roadkill to a finely grilled steak.

Use Coil wrapping to figure out how to get where you want to go. I'll do ss316l 24g 8 warp spaced 2.5mm id for the avocado 24. The 2.5 (or less) inner diameter is so the wicking fits through the holes nicely. Tight enough to stop any leaking, but loose enough to let air back into the tank. Keep the 32 gauge. It'll be good for a 26g clapton. ;)

i went with 28g in the end. I've done an 8 wrap on a 3mm bit and came out with a 1.7 ohm coil. Faffed about with the cotton a bit but I managed to get this thing wicking properly first time which I'm made up with, this thing is really good.

Only con i see at the minute is all the little damn parts that have to come apart to disconnect the bottom part of the tank.

I'm trying to figure something out, me and friend bought one of these each and his has a screw at the bottom that needs to be removed and then something else need to be unscrewed, where as on mine you loosen the pin at the bottom and its just one long gold centre post. Did they change the design of these at some point?
