Hey all,

I've watched videos and read threads and still not straight on the steps - one step in particular :

So you cover the airhole with fingers/hand, fill 3/4 full, thread top cap until it just catches, flip kayfun upside down, (here is where I'm confused) -now do you keep your finger plugging airhole on as you screw top cap in upside down OR as you flip kayfun upside down do you release your finger from the airhole as you quickly screw in top cap,

I've given up on the physics of the vacuum and air pressure - I just don't quite fully get it

Svoe moesto manual mentions nothing of this flip maneuver - they say just to fill right side up and put top cap on - weird.

Any input would be great - I know there are tons of threads on this but I've read many and I didn't see a clarification on that one step I mentioned above

Thanks much

Scott

Once you flip it over hold it at about a 45 degree angle with the air hole up and take your finger off of it then tighten the cap the rest of the way. What you are doing is that by holding it that way you are letting the air bubble flow upwards and it equalizes the pressure because it can now vent out the air hole. Once the cap is all the way on, you can tip it any way you like as the system is ready to use.

I agree with this but need to add , you need to screw the cap on further than just till it catches , screw it on until you have a full turn left then flip it , otherwise you'll wind up with juice all over .

Interesting. I'll try this. Similar to what I do. I fill it up, then put my finger on the air hole, put the cap on about one thread, turn it completely upside down, wait for the bubble to go up, then remove my finger. No leak problems at all since I started doing it this way.

    Kayfun 3.1, btw

    I think I got - thanks mainush.

I was holding my finger on airhole while it was upside and while I was screwing on top cap. and then final step I was releasing my finger - it didn't seem right and from what your saying that is wrong- was getting a lot of dry hits and the system just didnt feel right.

I will try suggested method on next fill -

It's a subtle difference but I think it is crucial -

Thanks to all who replied -

I've had luck top filling the 3.1 bit not the Lite for some reason.

I've had the same experience. The 3.1 can be filled to just below the top of the threads with no issues, no flipping, no blocking the airhole or other special handling. Just fill it, screw the top on and vape.

Only issue I've had was a slightly misshaped O ring on the top cap that caused me a major leakage after filling. After I'd replaced it, no problems.

Now the lite... yeah, I always fill through the fill hole, I so much prefer the 3.1.

Thanks guys - ill try some of these techniques - still getting dry hits - but I haven't tried these new techniques yet - will try just filling n not flipping over as someone mentioned. And will try the top filled flip techniques mentioned.

I also have to buy some plastic needle nose tops - is that what they are called ? Currently don't have a top cap that fits my 3.1

I only own one 3,1 clone and one little rocket

I tried recoiling my kayfun last night as thought maybe there was a hotspot - I must say that it's a pain in the ... to coil it. With 3 hands it will be so easy. It really is a pain - on the flip side - the coil I had on lasted a real long time - maybe will look for rta that little easier to build. But right now the 3,1 is all own and I really appreciate everyone giving me pointers -

I use cotton too so the the constant dry hit is nasty ! Maybe I should use silica ?

    Thanks all

Stumbled across www.vapingwarfare.com today and tried it and has actually been working for me for the last hour. No idea if its right or wrong just saying working for me for now. Ill post in case any future visitors stumble across thread looking for help ,

Place your finger over the air hole. Screw the chimney/top cap back in about 1-2 turns. DO NOT tighten it down all the way.
Turn the entire atomizer upside down with your finger still over the air hole. Watch the clear portion of the tank (or give it 2 seconds if you’re using the metal tank instead of the clear plastic one) and wait for the air bubbles to rise to the base of the Kayfun. Once done, go ahead and remove your finger from the air hole and tighten the top portion while it is still upside down, turn it back right side up. You are all set. Some people will blow into the air hole at this point, but it is not necessary from my experience.
