According to dwcraig1, TC firmware works just fine. I don't have any Topsides, but tomorrow I have 2 coming in hopefully and I use TC 99% of the time.

Thanks - didn't see his post. Looking forward to your impressions of the Topside TC performance once you have yours in hand.

Very odd sounding to me. But according to Evolv, 80% of dna vapers don't use TC either. For me, my first TC introduction was a Heatvape Invader Mini. It used a DNA40 clone board. Tried TC and I was hooked. I get the same vape as I can with VW. But unlike wattage, very little fiddling throughout the day. I set it once and very seldom do I need to adjust anything more. With wattage only, going outside and I needed to adjust the wattage again. Come back inside, adjust the wattage. Chain vape, adjust. Stop chaining, adjust. What a PIA. Nothing like that with TC. :D

Not odd, just different strokes for different folks. It sounds like you are sold on TC... have found your niche. I found mine as well with mechs and know that I won't change it. When set up to my well known preferences for the gear/joose combinations I don't feel any need to fiddle-faddle with my gear no matter how/where I vape it. I DLH, would just change the draw if I felt any need to do so.

I still prefer (and will always prefer) the mech/hybrid type mods that I started vaping (and making my own liquids) with in early 2013. I have preferred to squonk as well since mid summer 2014. Other than a short run with a bunch of ProVari's in the fall of 2013, 'regulated mods' were not part of my vape kit until a hiatus from ECF (starting spring 2016) running on a SA forum instead. Those folks were mostly all about regulated TC mods and RTA's, but most of them ran them in wattage mode (like I did when I bought a bunch of both in support of that forum). Buying regulated squonk mods is a fairly new path around here, and is more about the bottle systems than the regulation. That especially is what caught my eye on the Topsides (and the Eleaf Pico Squeeze 2's) because I hate leaks/joose on my gear/hands. So these mods are seeing the most use right now as my newest mods. But my all time favorite mods will always be my five mech Reo P67's that I still use 1-2-3 of sometimes along with the reg squoks (my 30 other Reos are fully retired).

I had ordered mine end of sept. They were supposed to be in the 5th but they arrived late so they emailed all of us with back orders to let us know and gave us a $5 store credit. I did not initiate the conversation, they did it on their own which = Huge Brownie Points ++++ as a seller!!!!
Ah, so they did. Helps if I read to the end of the email. Thanks! OK, maybe I will buy from them again, if the deal is right.

I seen MFS had them with the 20% off code Wednesday and was about to order one, I sent them a e-mail about the bottle(S) and they have never responded, my luck they will respond that it does come with 2 the very second they sell out, just my luck, there will always be another and better sale so their loss in the long run I can hold out with my other favorites until it either they respond or someone else has it for cheaper with Halloween and Black Friday sales on the way.

Re: magnets reversed.
So I thought I'd take a look at mine, figured they were the ones on the battery door.
At first glance I thought mine were reversed too because the battery door wants to spring up.
Upon closer examination I see it is the spring loaded negative contact of the mod to the battery door causing this.
So with another magnet I checked the polarity of the installed magnets and they are correct.
Bad news is my battery came out with some e liquid along the whole length of one side as if the 510 is leaking internally, possible it's at the top on the outside seal instead. I did a pressure test (crudely) by placing a 510 plug into the 510 and squeezing the bottle, got no leak but will keep an eye on it. I'll remove the top plate as necessary if it continues.

What am I missing? If I open the door and the top of the bottle cap sticks to the exposed magnets on the inside of the door, the magnets are reversed.

I'm not 100% sure on the firmware, maybe this is a silly question. Wasn't real clear from what I've read.

If you DL and install the TC firmware, does this replace the standard firmware, or is power mode still available? Just sounded weird that there were different firmware packages for power and TC. I don't typically use TC, but if it replaces the power mode and I have to update firmware to switch back and forth I won't bother with it.

I guess for folks who always use TC or power, this really isn't that big of a deal, just seems strange if both functions can't co-exist.

As far as the top fill magnets go, I have a hard time seeing how this could get past QC. I mean, if the top fill cover repels itself, wouldn't this be obvious?

Fasttech listed the Topside (pre-order) this morning, for some reason the blue one is $13 less than the other colors. "MAP" code on these but not working as yet so I don't know the final price.
$71.77 Authentic DOVPO Topside 90W TC VW Squonk Box Mod - 5-90W / built-in 10ml squonk bottle / 1*21700/20700/18650 / zinc alloy + aluminum alloy + stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Certainly not the place to buy it from in the US.
with map is 65.95 for both color.

Okay so it's REALLY hard to get the top cap on. I have to push and eventually I can get it to thread. My top will ever so slightly stick to the battery door but only right in the middle, if I try it off to the sides of the battery door (on the bottom) it repels. Is my magnet reversed and can I fix it or does the store I bought it from have to replace the whole thing. I only need the darn top
