I've just got in from doing a gig, with two empty Evo batteries. I'm a sound engineer and everytime i took it out of my pocket to vape on the cut off had come on so i ended up with about 4 puffs and a dead battery over the course of the gig!:( Evo's don't like Rock lol. Guess i need to get a manual.....which leads me onto my question. I've been interested in the Tornado/Ego and wanted to know what people thought about them as to whether i get one or a regular 510 with mega batteries? Which would be best in live gig scenarios?

cheers!

I've been wondering the same thing - I am a noob, vaping a Sidesho at work. It really has good throat hit and vapor, but the batteries have to be switched out pretty frequently. I was thinking of getting the EGO or Tornado, which I would probably use at home. I am probably being silly, but I am afraid on of the bigger PVs would look a little too masculine for me to be hitting at work at a hospital! LOL
From what I can tell, the EGO has better warranty, the Tornado comes with more carties, but the big thing - does the charger with the EGO take 1 1/2 - 2 hours, while the Tornado takes 6? I think I read that somewhere.

Hi CherylS glad i'm not the only one with decisions to make (so many makes, so little time lol). From what i've seen of it i wouldn't think the Ego would look too masculine for you at all. If you were going for a screwdriver then thats different (bit of a Handyman vape that one).
I think you could be right about the Janty model coming with the fast charger, i do seem to remember reading something about that. Guess that would be a deal sealer really...

Thanks for those tips guys! Is there any major difference between the Janty and the TW, besides the 6 month warranty? Are they the same thing just rebranded?
Janty:
2 batteries
1 atomizer cone
1 510 dura atomizer
1 usb charger and ac to usb adapter
5 carts
warranty= 3 months on batteries and parts 6 months on atomizer

TW
2 batteries
1 atomizer cone
2 510 titan atomizer
1 510 mains charger
1 charging adapter
10 carts
Warranty= 28 days

Yeah the eGo comes with a fast charger it takes about 2.5 hours to charge mine from completely dead..the TW one is a standard 510 charger so yeah it takes like 6 hours to charge (TW says 90 min for the fast charger that they sell seperately, and 4 hours for the regular mains charger that comes with it)

The mega batteries last longer but don't give any better hit than the standard battery.

If the E/T had been out when I started and I knew enough I would have bought it.
Bigger batteries just work better and last longer.

There is a UK vendor that sells laser, flashlight type mods cheap. I don't remember where, didn't bookmark it.

I am 99.9% sure that the warranty is 6 months on the batteries as well.

It should also be noted that the TW Tornado is the Janty eGo re-branded. The eGo/Tornado was designed and produced by Janty, then TW rebranded it and now sell it as their own (with permission of course). Dunno if that makes a difference for you, but it does for me.

If I lived in the UK I'd probably have gotten the tornado, but since I live in the US I bought the eGo.

Maybe I'm wrong, does Totally Wicked ship from the US?

Totally Wicked does indeed have a U.S. site. When you go to the Totally Wicked site, you can click on the U.S. flag in the top left corner. :)

I've had an eGo for a bit longer than 3 weeks, and it's pretty much the only PV I'm using nowadays. Even though the eGo and Tornado are the same device, I prefer dealing with Janty because of the longer warranty (3 months battery and 6 months atomizer Janty versus 28 days Totally Wicked) and the faster charger that comes standard with the Janty kit. I don't use cartridges, so the fact that more cartridges come with the TW kit is immaterial to me. The extra atomizer TW provides is nice, but I've got enough 510 atomizers to last me through the Apocalypse, so that isn't as big a deal, either.

But whatever you chose . . . eGo or Tornado . . . I just don't think you can really go wrong. The battery life is simply amazing, and the size is convenient.

The eGo/Tornado is the only way to go! I hated needing 5 or 6 batteries to get through the day!:nah: Now, ONE eGo battery lasts me ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT and part of the following day! It is incredible!!!!! (By the way, if you want, I've got some 510 batteries I will sell you....:D )
Just a note...I got an eGo and a Tornado...the eGo, all the "parts" worked perfect....the Tornado had one bad battery and a bad atty 8-o! Actually, now the other Tornado battery is "acting up" (power button stuck while I was using it last night) Guess I'll be sending both batteries back to TW :(

Ok im confused by this...i've just looked on Jantys european site (the uk site Ivapor sems to be permanently down) and the USA site and they both quote this:

The eGo can be charged via our SUPERFAST USB CHARGER (1.5-2 hours charging), or the inluded wall adapter.

This implies that you have to buy it separately, there is no mention of it in the kit?
