I've been smoking my new ta all day and it;s awesome, but it's already tasting like it;s starting to gum up. Normally I would just clean it, but looking into the hole I can't even see the bridge, assuming there is one. Is there a way to remove the innards so cleaning can be performed? If not I'm kinda irritated these attys cost 3 times as much as a regular one and if they can;t be cleaned they;re basically nothing but a fantastically expensive cartomizer.

Has anyone successfully cleaned these and what is the procedure?

Rinse with very hot water, put a condom on and fill with PGA, let sit for say 2 hours and soak, rinse again with hot water, you can also use some mouth wash and let it soak in that before the PGA then rinse and then soak in the PGA then rinse, I have found this to work great for me, the one thing I do is when done, and keep in mind I usually do about 20 Attys at a time maybe once a month or so is I put them in a metal pan and set my oven to the lowest setting, I put them in there for about a half hour to dry them out, I even sometimes use a hair dryer first, when all done I prime them all with some PG like the factories do and then put condoms on both ends and store them like this

bombastinator, Help me out here ... I don't know a lot about atomizers although I have tried some dripping. The other atomizers I have you can't take apart to clean either. How do you normally take them apart to clean them? Why do you have to get to the bridge - is this important? What is the procedure you've used in the past to clean attys?

I'd appreciate your advice.

You don't need to take the normal kind apart. in the past I've used the denture cleaner/dry burn method. It needs to be swirled around a bit to wash the burnt granules and denture cleaner out. With no opening but that little tube it's going to fill up with crap that won't wash out. Also how do you successfully dry burn one if you can't see the wick?

the PG soak method sounds like an inferior cleaning method but it's better than nothing anyway. This does point out a serious problem with tank atomizers: They cost 3 times as much and won't last as long.

Sad really. I had such high hopes.

I wash mine out with hot water, blow the atty out and then soak it in vodka for a couple hours. Another hot water rinse and blow it out and then let it dry overnight.

On these, the next morning I might or might not do a dry burn. If I do I just hold the button in for a couple seconds and blow it out. I put a couple drops of e-juice on the atty to prime it, put the tank on and take a couple puffs with my finger off the button to get everything working.

So far, my atty's are working just fine so I have no way of knowing if they won't last as long ... or will last longer than any other atty. Their still in full, everyday use.

As far as I know there is no promised life on any atty from other suppliers. I've had them go out in two days and some I've used for months. I figure if I can get two weeks out of one I've got my money's worth. But TW states they have a 28-Day Guarantee on all their products and this is stated on the page advertising their tank atty's. All other suppliers that I've seen tell you to check your atomizer upon receipt to make sure it is in working order. If its not, they'll replace it, but they won't replace them after you've used them for a day.

I think that if TW is going to give me a 28-Day Guarantee on their tank atty, this is a very good deal and very cost effective. Looks to me like these are going to be a lot LESS expensive than using atty's from other suppliers, just because of the guarantee.
