Totally clueless

Hey all! First time poster and I'm so lost and was hoping you guys could help me out.

I was a little less than a 1PAD smoker and a college buddy of mine turned me on to Blu e-cigs and I switched. They helped me kick the habit and I actually stopped even vaping after a few months because I was just fed up with the product.
I thought Blu was just completely cost ineffective, the charge didn't last long enough and the vapor was whispy (or "limp-...." as I called it). So I stopped smoking completely and felt pretty good.

Flash forward about a year and I'm back on 1PAD normal cigs and I'm thinking of switching to a vape again but damn it I just dont know where to start!

Blu was easy. You ordered the kit and it came to you and all you had to do was keep it charged and use the carts they sent you and all was well (crappy, unsatisfyingly well). Trying to upgrade to something that doesn't blow, I'm met with talk of amps and chambers and clearomisers (?) and I just dont know where to start!

Basically what I want is a Mid-sized setup, preferably for less then $100 not including fluid; as well as a comprehensive outline (which may already exist that I haven't found) on what the different parts are, how they work, and how to assemble them into something I can vape from.

tl'dr: Blu Ecigs are the paint-by-numbers of the vape world and now I'm clueless

There are so many produces out there, so it's hard to make a suggestion. I really like the ego twist because it's simple, battery life is pretty good, and it's easily carried.

My biggest suggestion would be to go on YouTube, look around ecf, and just google different things to see what would be best for you. Check out different vendors, out go to a local store if you have one to get a feel for what you want..

Hope that helped.

I agree with the twist. just ordered mine and havent tried it yet but all the reviews ive watched say good things especially for the money. I just ordered mine at ............com. It just cost me $60 including the shipping, which was 3-5 day shipping. It comes with a bottle of tobacco liquid and they send you another random bottle of free liquid for ordering. Comes with the ego twist, charger, and 2 ce4 clearomizer tanks. Even if you get a sampler of liquid to go with it ( which is 5 bottles of 6ml of liquids) It will cost you 75 for all and you will be set for weeks. Then just buying the liquid (which ive been getting for about $8-12 for 30 mls, should last you another few weeks. All in all 75 starting up and maybe 25 dollars a month after that is very cheap, much cheaper then analog ciggs

I agree with this. Look for eGo and eGo compatible stuff. Good place to start. Also look around for e-liquids, decide on some flavors to try.

This thread was just started today and you'll find a lot of great info: "Hello to all, I'm facing a dilemma." It has a link to the starter kit i wish i'd bought for $25 instead of wasting twice that on the one i bought.

I'd post the URL but as a fellow n00b, i'm probably not allowed to do that.

I agree, an eGo Twist starter kit would be great. Or even a plain eGo starter kit. They will come with everything you need except maybe juice. Then it's just a matter of charging the battery, screwing on the clearo, filling with juice and vaping.

Here's a twist kit. You might be able to find cheaper though. http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

From a fellow newbie who started on unsatisfying bloogs, I definitely recommend this kit. Reasonably priced, takes the hassle of shopping around for different components, and gives you options so you can try different combinations to see what you like.

I bought that exact setup a couple weeks ago. I went with a 650 mah twist and a 1300 spinner. With an mt3 and an iclear. The iclear I got was a dud, which sucks cuz I realy liked it.

Hit up a spot like Mt. baker Vapor for some cheap juice so you can get a feel for what flavors you enjoy.

Shipping is amazingly fast at either vendor. I know I dont have much experience at this, but that kit is what I have and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

You're more than welcome to post a link to something that you like! As long as it's not a banned site, there's no problem (and if it's banned, it will be ***'d out or ....'d out, so if it does that, just delete it). :)

Another good resource for info and reviews is Spinfuel e magazine

Spinfuel Magazine | The Art of Vaping

lots of great info here on ECF! check out the Newcomers library.
Some good info on vaping basics there, agreed. Just understand that Spinfuel accepts paid advertising and seems to favor products from those vendors in their reviews and recommendations. Not very unbiased at all.

I can totally relate to where you're at - I started out with blu cigs as well, and thought they were absolute crap. Went back to smoking cigarettes for almost two years.

A friend introduced me to the joyetech ego-c upgrade so I found my local vape store and they set me up.

My starter kit came with two ego-c upgrade batteries, two clearomizers (holds the juice), two bottles of e-liquid/juice, a wall plug with a USB port, and a five pack of wicks (to screw into the clearomizers) - all of this ran me $85.

That and then the added $25 ish a month for liquids - totally beats analog prices!

I agree with a lot of what was already said - do some research on here, watch reviews on YouTube, find a local vapor store, start thinking about what flavor eliquids you'd want to vape, and you're on your way!

Have fun!

I also agree with this. Been vaping for a few months now and looking back I am glad I got a twist. Its a nice starting place and can satisfy you a bit longer than some other starter kits. Still has a surprisingly decent amount of power even if you move up to APV's later and its not so expensive that I mind letting other people try it.
