I smoked for 29 years, started vaping on October 2 2013 started at 18mg of nic and every 2 weeks cut down 2mg. currently I am at 8mg and I never had any trouble, its a matter of just doin it, if I did do so can you. And believe me I had 50 million excuses not to stop smoking sooner.

SLOW DOWN!!! You smoked for 29 years, give your body time to adjust and do it slowly. Im only telling you this from personal experience. I rushed it the first couple of times and ended up falling off the wagon.

Theres no reason to rush...what youre doing now is WAY better for you than smoking...even if it takes 3 years to ween yourself off completely youre still farther along than many smokers who are trying to quit.

I agree with this ^^^ ... started at 18 and went to 12 after a month ... going back up to 16 soon, as 12 is causing me to chain vape just to keep the cravings away.

My friend anyone who feels bad for exchanging one bad addiction with a better addiction, should quit all. If this one can not, than should enjoy not complain. If you look my previous posts you can see I didnt intend to quit but quitted. I dont feel such things because while I enjoy vaping my health become better every day. I laugh them counting levels noting how many mg's he/she consumed a day etc.
what the hack? I dont know but most probably I consume 3ml a day around 3-5 mg/ml (I never knew. I add VG to my 24mg/ml liquids) and this is far less nicotine for me considering a 25 grams tobacco smoker I was. for 45 years.
It is happy vapings or happy quit cold turkey. enjoy your life as you like.

It's not about trading, it is all about upgrading. Getting a bet vape and a better nic hit. As my gear and builds improve, upgrading, my nicotine delivery improves, and I have to lower my nic levels. I don't smoke, I vape.

I feel better, am happier, love the world of vape, why should I even consider not vaping.? That would be like not drinking coffee. Not gonna happen anytime soon in my household.

I for one never wanted to give up smoking but the wife did, when she gave up I started to use a atomizer instead of smoking in the house.

Within two weeks I jacked in smoking, vaping is so much better. Cleaner, heather and I can vary my nic strength to suit how I feel.

Yes we are swapping one addiction for another but a much better addiction.

Honestly, I'd be okay with staying on nicotine forever if I can't quit it. Nicotine in the absence of the thousands of other toxins is only a tiny fraction of the risk. Right along there with other risks I take like driving a car, playing a sport, and drinking way too much coffee.

That being said, I have lowered my nicotine quite a bit. I started at 24 mg/ml, which was great for getting me off cigarettes. I quickly lowered it to 18 mg/ml and the. 12 mg/ml as my tolerance for nicotine seemed to drop off quickly. I stayed at 12 mg/ml for quite a while. At least a year and recently bumped it down to 10 and 8 mg/ml. The move to 8 was because I went to a shop and they had unusual nicotine levels. 8 was a step down, but it turns out to be fairly satisfying to me. I find that when I bump the nicotine down, I vape a little more for a few days, and then I'm back to normal.

The part where I go off on a tangent...
I'm convinced that there is more to cigarette addiction than the nicotine (MAOIs probably being part of that equation). I can go for long periods of time without vaping. When I was smoking I could go for a few hours without a cigarette, but towards the end of that time I'd be hurting bad. Climbing the walls trying to figure out when I could slip away to have one. With the PV it's nothing like that. I personally think that research will eventually show that nicotine is only a small part of the addiction to cigarettes. There are already hints that that is the case. It will take a long time, since it's currently accepted that nicotine is "the" addictive thing in cigarettes, but the research base for this assertion is probably not as strong as common knowledge would have us believe.

I didn't start vaping to stop smoking. I started vaping to keep my nicotine levels up while on business trips .... can't smoke in airports, on airplains, in rental cars, in hotels yadda yadda yadda. Having to leave your hotel room in Scotland in the middle of the night for a smoke in November really REALLY sucks. When I got home I ordered my gear and a few juices and started to vape away just to get used to the process. Funny thing was, since I started vaping I just kind of stopped smoking. Went from a 1.5 - 2 pack a day for the last 46 years habit to vaping.

To be perfectly honest I don't KNOW if this is healthier or not, but I do know it tastes better, it smells better, I can breathe better, and in the long run it will be a darn site cheaper. (and when I'm in some faraway hotel room, instead of going outside in the freezing rain to smoke, I'm going to sit back and vape me some root beer or licorice juice.

As far as eventually stepping down my nic level to 0 ..... I don't know .... maybe I will, maybe I won't, it's too early to tell so I'm not worrying about it.

I find being able to stay indoors at work one of the best incentives to avoiding analogs. We went smoke free (have to leave the grounds to smoke) several years ago and I've left in all kinds of weather...rain, blizzard conditions, ice, swealtering temps. It's only when you attempt to give this up that you realize how much you've been enslaved.
