Hey all,

Switched to vaping about 3 months ago after 20 years of cigarettes, and never been happier. However, I'm flying from SC to Houston to see a friend at the end of October, and I'm concerned about trying to take my e-cig with me on the plane. I'm using an E-Go Twist with a VIVI Nova tank, and I'm afraid some uninformed TSA agent will mistake it for an IED or some kind of dangerous device. I'll have to take a bottle of e-juice to last the weekend I'm there as well, and there's regulations on the volumes of liquid you can transport (bottles of shampoo and such).

So, anyone have any experience flying with an e-cig?

I recently moved to California from Miami Florida and I just put my tank in a lil zip lock with a bottle of juice and the battery in my carry on thru the security check points. No hassle or looks. Once pass that I was able to put it together and had it in my pocket I vaped on every flight just no clouds!

This just sounds like trouble. That moment when just the tiniest bit of "smoke like" vapor peeks out...

I fly a lot for business and have never had trouble with bringing my vaping equipment. A couple of tips/best practices:

1. You can put your bottles of juice in your travel toiletries bag as long as they are less than 3.2 oz (which is like 100ml of juice, so you probably dont have to worry about it).
2. Put your egos in a ziploc bag with your carts/clearos. Put it in the bin with your stuff when going through. The worst that they will do is ask you what it is, which most likely wont happen, as they have seen many of them already.
3. IMPORTANT !!! - try and make sure that any tanks that you have are as empty as possible, as the air pressure of taking off, flying, and landing will affect them, you will get leakage if you have a tank that is too full, and if it is in a plastic bag, it will get messy.

What I try to do generally is get through security, then when I am at the gate, I wrap the tanks and the batts in tissues/napkins and put them back in the bag, so that if there is any leakage at all, there is no mess.

I have flown in and out of big and small airports, ranging from LAX/JFK/SFO/CLT to smaller airports like Lexington, KY and Talahassee, FL, and there have been no issues to date. Good Luck !!!
