I flew to Florida last week and had my carry on pulled and swabbed because of 2 REOs in there. They asked me what they were, I told them. Then they said "Oh." And ran it through the scanner again. Were they going to look different the second time through? The airport was a serious logjam that morning and took a very long time to get a whole lot of people through security. It was the closest I ever came to missing a flight.

Just another cautionary tale. Checked into a hotel room today. Brought my five reos with me. Unpacked all my clothes and settled in for some vape time. Spent about 15 minutes hitting each one in succession. Serious chain vaping. Before I knew it I had set off the smoke alarm! Luckily, I had a window and door I could open and I was able to air the room out and the alarm stopped just as the maintenance guy showed you up.

These reos are gonna get me in trouble.

I can't remember if I told my REO and TSA story yet, so I will just repost.

I had no problems with REO in my carry on luggage. Placed into the bin with my shoes, in a separate baggie, I had the REO biz card and also the instructions I received when I purchased, just so it could be identified as a vaping device. With my IMRs in a nice plastic battery case with rubber band around it for exta security.

Flew out of NW ARK airport in Fayetteville, AR, the one they moved for Walmart ......so I fly out of there rather than LIttle Rock as there are a huge number of flights going out of there, mostly walmart and JB Hunt people.

Had no problems leaving gate area in Detroit either......went thru TSA a 2nd time when my flight got cancelled.

However, on the way back I had problems at Stewart Air Force Base airport, very small place but international airport and customs receving place. They pulled me out of line, for 2 reasons. One was the decals on the back pockets of my blue jeans AND the REO mini. That warranted a full pat down as well as testing my hands for chemicals. TSA lady said to me about the REO "this looked VERY BAD on the Xray" (whatever that means) and then she asked me if I had had problems with it before at TSA checkpoints, since i had included business card, etc. and I said "nope, this is the only place I ever got stopped, and I only include that stuff in case because I feel it helps you identify the item, since not everyone has seen a REO mod before. "

So, anyway, it was all cool, but it did slow me down in the line and thankfully, it is small airport and not a lot of people.

So you just never know who you're going to *get* at a TSA checkpoint, so always be prepared, and have your ducks in a row.

PLAN on being delayed in line, travelling with ecigs, because if you don't you may very well miss your flight, always assume you need more time than you do.

I would have been broken hearted if it was confiscated, since I already had a REO taken from my car (long story, i thought I got it back, but when I went to pick up what police thought was my ecig all they had was a different ecig, not my reo, in the same colors as the REO that I had stolen was.....it was like the greatest most disappointing coincidence you can imagine, right? I get a call "we retrieved your ecig" and then I drove 80 miles round trip to pick it up in the town where it went missng........and it wasn't my REO! I was so ......, since I had described it to them in DETAIL! All they heard was black.silver and they had gotten a black/silver turned in and of course thought it was mine, and it WAS an ecig but not my REO )

So if TSA had taken my REO that would have been 2 reos I lost. (which I can NOT afford!)

New question came up.

I'm used to dripping and flying with a tube mod. Do you travel with juice in the bottle, in the REO? How does TSA react?

They weren't the least bit concerned about the juice I had in my bottles, but they sure didn't like the way it looked on x-ray.

Flying out last week I made sure my Reos were empty and the batteries we're all in their cases. However, flying back today from Ft. Lauderdale I neglected to drain the bottles and forgot to remove the batteries. TSA didn't even blink.

For the record I throw everything in my backpack all jumbled together. I have a zillion chargers for my gadgets, the gadgets themselves (Nook, PDA, wireless headset, ohm meter, cell phone, etc.), as well as my vaping gear (six batteries, three Reos, and a Magneto I use for dripping). They've searched my bag twice out of a total of around 20 trips (so twice out of 40 times I went through security). I got tagged today for a random search at the gate and they went through my bag pretty thoroughly...no questions. Not even a raised eyebrow.

Obviously I haven't traveled through every airport in the country but I've passed through the big ones with my vaping gear; Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa, Minneapolis/St. Paul, LAX, San Diego, Dallas, Chicago, Sacremento, Seattle, and now Ft. Lauderdale.

You may get asked questions and they may ask you to demonstrate how it works (I keep hoping for this) but unless it's specifically banned they won't confiscate it. Worst case scenario is they give you the option of tossing it in the trash or shipping it back via UPS or FedEx.

Whoa, don't like that scenario. Flying to Washington DC beginning November (if USA government is open!). Will not like to post my Reos back to South Africa. Who's got a spare Reo to loan in Washington:).

Get the address of a local in Washington you can ship it to if it comes to that.

Also, I've flown weekly since going reo only. Last two trips I got a lot of attention. Either random or they are expecting something. I will see how Monday goes.

27 trips in the last year only twice was there any concern, both times it wasn't the device itself, just how it looked on x-ray. They had me take it out and sent the bag back through to make sure what they saw was the ecig. I think I'm going to just start setting it next to my qt baggy in the bin.

I just bought my first reo grand, can't wait for it to arrive! I haven't even seen it yet, and am already nervous of losing it during our vacation to Florida in December. I was thumbing through this thread looking for the best way to get through Security with a reo, batteries, charger and juices. Would it be best to pack the items separately, maybe leaving the juice and batteries/charger in the checked luggage, and carrying the reo with me? This will only be my second time flying and am already super nervous as it is...
Appreciate any packing tips! Thank you!
