Yesterday there was a small RC Helicopter get together. Good times catching up with my friends in the hobby etc. After the event I went over to a friends house (ClayK here on ECF) to hang out and vape.

First off I would like to say as usual Clay takes all his hobbies to the extreme. He probably has enough extra helicopter part to open a small hobby store and enough guns and ammo in the safe to wipe out at least the first wave of zombies. He had acquired a lot of knowledge, and vaping gear, in a short period of time. Lord knows how many flavors, various addys, and mods I tried while I was over there on all his devices. I was pretty "vaped out" by the end of the day and I may never have another Apple flavored variant again! I also learned an Atomic Fireball at 5 volts can burn your tongue or at least feel like it did. I may have a new phobia!

I did a few back to back testing with the same juice a few times. What did I learn? People have different tastes. Guess that put the P in Personal Vaporizer.

Some things I did like with the various models:
  • The Rio - Never ending juicy and tasty hits in a relatively small package
  • The Provari - Small cigar shaped package with variable voltage. A lot smaller than I thought. Perfect machining.
  • The Darwin - The Cadillac of PV IMO. Put just about anything from a drip addy to a MAP tank on there and you can literally "dial it in", to your exact tastes, in a second. Run it in pass thru or have the battery last a day or two is total WIN in my book.

Complaints:
  • The Rio - I supposed if I had to gripe it would be the form factor. Let not for me. Business card sized pack of smokes with a tip on it. Plus, you have to be "semi" committed to a flavor.
  • The Provari - The weight it was a LOT heavier then I imagined. Clay had and extended cap and bigger battery on it so he swapped it out to a standard one... Still pretty heavy. People claim they love the ability to swap the batteries out. Personally, I would rather my PV just last ALL DAY without have to F with it. That menu system? PASS. 5 clicks [Power up or Down] click click click. Nope, not for me.
  • The Darwin - Pretty large square box with a rotating orifice out the side. Lighter than the Provari with more Mah. Other than its shape and cost I cannot find a whole bunch of fault. I certainly have the money to buy one (or more) of these today, if I chose to, but was not impressed enough to really feel the need to buy one.

The GoGo
  • I just like the way my GoGo hits. Some call it "airey" I like it!
  • I like it size.
  • I like it's cost.
  • I like the way the battery lasts ALL day. No special batteries or charger needed (other than whats in the kit)
  • I like the way I can dump 3ml in to the cardo and get the exact same hit for at least 2.5ml of it without having to flip it upside down take shorter hits or put a bottle in a box or screw with MAP tanks or FlÜxomiser tubes.
  • The cardos are cheap enough to toss if you do not feel like cleaning them and I am still waiting to burn one up.

What did Clay say about the GoGo? I think "MEH" would be generous ;). Different stokes for different folks I guess.

Now do I wish my GoGo had a VV dial in it? YES certain flavors are better at certain voltages. Anyway that is my 2 cents for today. Do what works for -YOU- :vapor:

I think you wrote my post for me D'dog. I have tried all that you listed but the Darwin, as well as a few other higher-end PVs. I came to the same conclusions FOR ME. I "get" the other devices, I really do. But when you take into account my vaping habits, my lifestyle, the fact that it's my money and, maybe most importantly that vaping is not a hobby for me, the GoGo (or any of the recent derivatives of it) fit the bill for me.

About the only PV that piques my interest at this point is the Apex Alpha, but I also have no need to drop the coin to give it a trial run. I had hoped that the Gogo would end my search for all-around decent performance, and it did. I watch new developments with great interest, but my vaping hopes and dreams no longer revolve around them. That's all I needed.

I have to agree with you. The Darwin is definately interesting and when they get cell phone service on it I might get one but don't want to carry two around.
I'm like you and like a PV that lasts all day without messing with it just pick up and go. With the Go-Go that is what you get.
I'm really liking my new Echo too with the 1300 automatic battery and 3.5 ml carto and vapes great like the Go-Go.:2cool:

I just received a Go-Go recently and have spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on other mods and PVs out there, and so far the Go-Go seems to be my staple. Its almost strange when I wonder why, because its just a 3.7 battery thats lasts a long time. But its also the sleek and stylish feel I get from it. Its definitely small enough for how long it lasts, and looks cool to boot.

The cartos are some of the best for being filler cartos, and the taste is quite good. One filled carto lasts me about 8-10 hours and thats without topping off. Nothing that a little 3ml bottle can't solve if out of the house for 10+ hours and a drip tip for easy access.

What really did it for me was the 808 adapter I also got from cigeasy, and the fact that it allows me to use cartos of that thread also. Which is fantastic, because I plan to use the CE3 on my Go-Go when they come out, and test out the revised CE-X in the meantime, and with filler less cartos the voltage is almost irrelevant because of the fantastic vapor and taste that filler less cartos provide - and with the Go-Go for a LONG time

..and ultimately what makes a PV is what the juice feeding device is, IMO. Having options of 3ml giant filler cartos or access to at the moment any 808 filler less cartos puts my mind at ease to stick with the Go-Go.

I hope that the Go-Go has enough support for a new and improved edition to be made at some point, because if they ever make a better one than it will be downright perfect. The only thing I could ask for besides Variable voltage would be a bump up to 4.2v or possible mah increase, and native threaded filler less cartos.

Good review Dog. You're right, PV is personal. For me it's the Infinity form notcigs. The diameter is slightly bigger than the eGo. It is VV and have a wheel like a BIC lighter to adjust voltage, while taking a draw if you want. It's great to be able to adjust to different juices or atty/cartos. And the weight is much less than most mods.

I'm still looking for the rotating "orifices" on my Darwins...

Hmmm...I would think you would be the expert to ask too...:)

It's no secret that I'm a fan of my Monkeyboxx Variable Voltage Feeder. I'm glad you found your "personal" vaporizer. I have a Provari & I don't have the issues with it that you do. It's one of the best VV PV's made today. Regulated voltage must not be an important factor for you, but it is for me. Thanks for sharing your opinions.

Nice post ....I love my provari. But I'm gonna say +1 on the menu thing.
1 click to many and you have to go through the whole cycle again....it's a love hate relationship lmao

Yep I saw Clay roll by the desired voltage more than once ;)

I do not believe I had an S on there just one rotating orifice. What do you call it?

Dang it! Now I have to go find out about it. VV did spoil me a bit.

I think what Dog is talking about is the atty arm connection.

While it is true, different strokes for different folks, I think it depends on what the requirements or wants are. If cost is a factor (and it often times is), certain PVs really take the stage. If cost was a factor for me and I wanted a comparative between all PVs under $75, yeah, the Go-Go is probably the top contender. It's an eGo on steroids. Do I think it's on the level of some of the other PVs out there that are above that $75 threshold? No, but that's because the ones over that threshold carry with them some additional features and materials you just don't get in a <$75 PV. Once you start to equate in the functions (or materials) in items in that range, depending on how valuable they are to you, there really is no comparison. An adjustable power system or feeding system really define why there is that barrier. If the features for those items weren't in such demand, those PVs simply wouldn't exist. But, if someone were to ask me about "getting into vaping", I'm likely to steer them to an eGo or a Go-Go (for different reasons for each).
