Do we all see the same green? Fact: Everyone can look at something like a tree and agree that it's "green," because that's what we learned to call the color that we see when we look at a tree. But what you actually see when you look at something "green" might look, to you, like what I would call "red." And there's no way for anyone to ever know whether this is happening or not, because we can not literally see the world through each others' eyes.

Fact: There is no such thing as the color "purple." Purple is not a color. Purple light does not exist. Some colors, like yellow for example, can be created by mixing two different colors of light (red and green, in this case), or can be made up of a single wavelength (like a laser.) But you will never see a purple laser. That's because there's no such thing as purple light. There is no single wavelength that looks "purple." Any time you see purple, you are seeing two (or more) pure colors (various shades of red and blue) mixed together.
