Troubles with dripping.

Hey everybody. I got my 510 last Friday, and I've been mostly using carts. Straw, PTB, and most recently the wide straw mod with about 1/3 the fluff on top (I have not gotten to the store for the blue pad). Seems pretty good, but I keep reading how 510 users really like dripping. Whenever I try it, I only get about 5-6 puffs before the burnt metallic taste. I get this on the week old atty and a new one tonight. I did blow out the primer and get it a few sets of drips through it before judging. Same thing. From what I've read, you are supposed to get like 12-15 puffs from a 2-3 drop drip. I'm putting them right on center of the bridge and letting it sit for a good 20 seconds before hitting it. Any suggestions?

Edit: I don't take very long hits. Maybe 3-4 seconds.

Same here...I get about 5 or 6 puffs before it's gone, so I drip only when I'm mixing a new flavor. The rest of the time, I just use the spring mod and all is well.

I thought perhaps I just take really BIG puffs, but then I saw your edit.

I dunno. I drip exclusively at this point. I don't really count my puffs, but I usually only drip 1 or 2 drops so I don't flood the atty but I'd say I get anywhere from 5-10 puffs from that. It's so much easier just to drip than to muck around with carts. I don't drive very far or for very long normally, so I don't get into issues with "dripping & driving". Doesn't bother me a bit to have to drop a couple drops on the atty every now and again. Seems to be a lot less hassle than filling carts honestly.

Maximum I can get with 2 drops is 13 puffs on M401 automatic.
Get less on manual because you can hold button down longer.
I only counted once.
I just get in the rhythm on when to add 2 more drops.

I get about 11 puffs from 4 drops (small dropper) with RN4081 4.4v DIY passthru.

I usually drip 4-5 drops and it last about 15-20 puffs. It does not usually flood my atomizer. I tried the cartridges buying and refilling. This is a pain in the ..... Now the only thing I do is drip.The Little Chuck uses a lot more liquid than the 510s.

I don't know if it is already done here, but we've just discovered a new cartrdge filling product: someone discovered that theabags are very good to use as a filling for your cartridge.......but not every teabag adjusts: we use Lipton Pyramid tea bags: we cut one of the sides of the bag......we put the tea out(duh), then roll it like if you roll a cigarette.......you fold it in half......then put it in the cartridge......(use a scissor to make it fit )and fill it with liquid( about 10 drops). Never again I've tasted the dirty plastic taste that you have when the cartridge is getting empty......when the taste gets less, just a few drops again.....and ready it is........ dripping is very easy this way, and after a week or so, you can take it out, clean it with water, dry a bit, and put it back. Up to four or five times, then make a new one......
I hope I've explained it right.......English is not so easy if you're not used to it.....
