I'm so sick of so-called medical authorities that demonize an ingredient because its also an ingredient in something else. Something mysterious and scary.

Looked at my emergency inhaler this morning. In the inactive ingredients: water, propylene glycol.

And that is what is so ridiculous is that as a doctor, he should know that propylene glycol is not only used in just about every product on the market that we put on our bodies, but is also a major ingredient in many meds. To create a scare over PG is not a good thing. Just think! Next thing you know, someone finds out that their medicine is cut with PG and then stops taking it! Negative and inaccurate propaganda could lead to some very serious outcomes.

Ya know, Maybe...just maybe... The list of respected and informed Dr's who are willing to go on record against vaping is begining to dwindle, as more of them are seeing the benfits in their own patients and starting to educate themselves to the potential benefits vs. smoking.

It may be getting a bit more difficult for the Media outlets to find the respected Dr. who is so willing to make the "Sensationalized Accusations" and employ the "Scaremongering Lies" that make for a good news story in time for their deadline. So they end up using anyone they can get, who will give their story a little punch in time for the 6pm news.

Let's hope so. I know my doctor is thrilled that I have stopped smoking analogues, looked over the ingredients list I provided and said he was a-o-k with them all. There have been plenty of other reports up here as well as doctors were shocked at the results. That's not to say that we should stop testing and not all keep an eye on each other as long term use progresses... but I do hope your assumption is right. That would be huge. :thumb:

Hello all,

I watched the video and something stuck out in my mind that bothered me so I just had to come back and voice my opinion.

The so called medical professional in the video had a comment as he laughed, "Now I'm not sure buy I think propylene glycol is on Formaldehyde.

This is very dangerous what he just did, and said. There is water in formaldehyde as well but that does make water dangerous. He used his play on words in order to gain points for the pharmaceutical companies as well as his profession. This is a very slippery slope he is on and don't think people do not know it. He needs to re-read his hippocratic oath again where it says "In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and
If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot". Well there ya go.

As far as the "non smokers" comments, if you do not have issue with this addiction, you pretty much do not know what others are dealing with so enough said.

Complaints that flavors are geared toward the young, everything is geared toward the young they are the next consumers. but it has nothing to do with the present consumers who need this. Putting a disclaimer on the product, website, or in stores stating must be 18 or older to buy and may be a fire hazard if misused. This should be enough.

Bottom line is if a kid is gonna smoke they are gonna smoke, that was us...remember. but if a young adult makes this decission I would rather they would use the e-cig than the real thing.

Anyways just my thoughts, thanks for listening.

Can I ask you what was the brand of that inhaler so I can look it up? I am working with a few different doctors as well as a highly respected scientist who specializes in toxicology. They all LOVE the product!! I would like to forward them the inhaler which shows those ingredients.

Thank you!!

Seems a ton of patents for MDI (Metered Dose Inhalers) included propylene glycol. Reading wikipedia it says MDIs are used to treat asthma, COPD, and all sorts of respiratory illnesses.

So while reading through a patent for one MDI I found on google, I took a shot in the dark and searched for all patents including propylene glycol :s

Stay tuned to the technology - Patents

With 75+ pages of results, its in literal tons of products, medicines, and all sorts of stuff.. makes my head hurt a bit.

Great job.

You looked really well and respectable. Represented well.

I especially like where you said something about how you couldn't run up a flight of stairs when smoking...

I wish they would just show more of that part of the interview without showing so much of the vaping. Kind of makes it look like those medical marijuana media runs where all they show is everyone getting high. Not saying anyone looked like that, you all came across well and respectable, LOL.

I don't think anyone looks really cool sucking on this or a joint for that matter, LOL. Kind of didn't like all the zooming in on everyone vaping, but of course they need to show it working.

I think an interview with you where you show how it works set the thing aside and just talk about all the benefits, etc. and how many lives it will probably save even, the reference to 4,000 chemicals in analogs vs. water, PG, nicotine and flavoring.

What I am trying to say is you did a great job! I wouldn't have changed a thing with the small amount of time you were on there regardless of what else was left on the cutting room floor. You got the point across with your reference to going up a flight of stairs and you were not just there vaping on the thing. PERFECT! What else could you have done with your '2 seconds' of fame.

Anyone else who might be interviewed in the future should learn from that and not let them get a lot of shots of you just sitting around vaping, just show them once and then on to the benefits, IMHO...

On the contrary!!Propelyne Glycol IS USED in anti freeze.Go to an auto parts store and checkout some R/V antifreeze. It is used in R/V water lines to keep them from freezing over the winter. The bottle will say however that it is non-toxic.So you dint have to really worry about flushing out the system too much or worry about it contaminating your water supply with minimal use.
If you have used deoderant you have probably had a higher dosage of pg from Gillette than E-Cigs.Oh crap the F.D.A is gonna go after Gillette now.Damn it!!

Re-read what I said, I said it can be used in some places where it comes in contact with food, such as in your R/V example. The reason being, it's safe to consume.

Took at quick look at the labels around the house.

Its also in toothpaste (Rembrant "Fresh Mint") and St. Ives exfoliating scrub, Watkins extracts (lime, pineapple, and coconut flavors) for baking, sour cream.

The amount of PG that I'm consuming by vaping is miniscule compared to the rest of the PG that I expose myself to on a daily basis.
