At first I thought to post this on the "Believed by Some..." thread, but upon reflection, I believe the topic is important enough to merit its own thread. I can see the certification being of great value to vapers: Become certified in Healthology, and we too can be quoted as experts in vaping articles. We too can conduct studies (see http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/media-general-news/540378-believed-some.html) and be printed in sciency journals (and since we're certified experts, we can peer review each other's articles, so publication is guaranteed) and be quoted in articles about the studies.

Trust me, I’m a healthologist (and now you can be one too…) « The Science Bit

With "Certified in Healthology" after our names, we can gain easy access to whisper in the ears of politicians legislators and sit on special advisory committees of hidebound pharma shills regulatory agencies.

Maybe ECF will let us start our own sub-forum!

What do you think? I think YOU can make it in the world of Healthology! I know *I* can! :thumb:

People believe the weirdest things because, well, they read it on the internet and everything. I am currently losing weight mostly for my own health and because we have a 2 month pool going on at work and 400 bucks goes to the person who loses the most weight in 2 months (I am far more interested in losing weight the healthy way than the money just so you know). While discussing this with a friend, I mentioned that going vegetarian, for my body, helps me lose weight more quickly so long as I watch my protein intake. He suggested that I stay off brown (healthy) rice and stick to white (no vitamins) rice because there are "toxins" in brown rice. He couldn't tell me exactly what these worrisome toxins were, but then told me he read it on a Paleo diet forum, so he believes it. Some idiot who I'm sure has no crudentials told him this and he buys right into it without any further research. Really?

This IS the same thinking the anti-vape people use. They see something coming out of our mouths and noses so it must be bad. Some talking head on t.v. told them so! Just like the brown rice, all it takes is some research into what real professionals think and you can learn the truth for yourself. Even the anti's in the vape world cannot find anything particularly harmful in what we vape, so they say there isn't enough research and more studies need to be done. Because they know there must be something wrong but they just cannot find it.

Oh I forgot. Real research takes a little work (a horrible 4 letter word for many) therefore it's easier to take someone else's word for it. Sad. Sad. Did I say this is sad?
