first of here are my stats:

been smoking about 8 years now. never really smoked that much compared to others (i average about 6 per day, of marlboro lights).

i dont think im much of a nicotine addict. after not smoking for 5-6 hours gaps, cigarettes taste different - they taste better (i think this is the nicotine addiction). so as you can see, i can go a good 5 hours without getting my "light" nicotine fix.

i think the nicotine leaves your bloodstream after 3-4 days, so how does that factor into the craving? doesn't that mean that it's an oral craving after the nicotine exits your bloodstream? after 4-5 days of quitting, if you smoke an analog.. it tastes horrible, probably because your body isn't used to it.

i bring this up because im awaiting the arrival of my 510 manual.. and i'm really hoping that i'm addicted more to the oral part of smoking, and not the nicotine itself. in the long run, i'd like to switch to the nicotine-less liquids.

No real question in there but I'd suggest starting off with low nic juice. like below 12mg maybe 6mg. You could get higher mg juice and then dilute it but first you have to figure out what flavor and what nic level will keep you from reaching for your cigarettes. I like the Marlboro flavor and it is one of the more consistent across different vendors/suppliers, imo. It doesn't taste like 'Marlboros' (nothing will exactly) but it isn't key lime either - there is a tobacco taste with a secondary flavor the best i can describe on the ones I've had is, a coconut and perhaps vanilla but it isn't the prominent flavor.

Yeah I have that problem too - it's the action of lighting the cig and stepping outside for a break that was one of the reasons I smoked...
I believe the oral fixation is as strong as the nic addiction. Prior to some surgery, I used Chantix (I was one of the few who had no problem with this drug) and it worked well in taking care of the nic addiction. However, I really missed the act of smoking. Needless to say, after the surgery I returned to smoking.
