Saw this guy that makes custom mods the site is called turnwoodfx . They look dope. I just don't get one thing. Why is it that when we get to expensive mods people just make them with single batteries? I'd love to buy one of his mods but with dual batteries. Also the sites yall provided above suffer from the same issue. Many fantastic handcrafted mods but all of them single battery.

Most high end mods are single battery. There are going to be a few high end dual battery regulated devices but it seems that is a feature more commonly found in mainstream devices.

A lot of vapers dont need more than what a single battery offers, or prefer the small form factor of a single battery mod. That's just the direction high end mods have taken.

I mean I vape at relatively low wattage 50-70 W at most depending on the device. It's not like it's the end of the world, I guess a single 21700 mod would suffice.

The majority of all vapers vape under say 60 watts, and while dual battery mods can give you longer life, you can use different coil material and get a nice hard hitting coil that works great at lower wattage..

You might try playing with coils some, try some Ni80 orNi90 wire, or flat wire, rectangle wire and see what you can do with coil building that gets you into the lower wattages happily..

There isn't a lot of high end gear that's not mechanical, and very little thats dual battery. Most people with a few hundred dollars to blow prefer a more discreet, yet beautiful aesthetic over the larger mods..

here's a DNA 250c

What do you mean? It's not worth it to buy from the Philippines? Did you mean I'll get a lot for my money or not enough for my money?
What I mean is there is alot of great equipment out there that doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Your definition of high end and my definition of high end are different things. I agree with others that for a regulated mod anything with a DNA chip will be high end quality wise. I don't use regulated mods or tanks anymore so I'll bow out and observe. Good luck with your search.

P.S. look at Vicious Ant.

Really, it's all relative and very personal.

Back in the day there were a LOT of high-end mod makers that would charge hundreds of dollars for a mechanical tube mod. Some folks were eagerly getting on waiting lists to throw their money at such mods, or paying scalper prices to avoid waiting for a boutique "facebook" mod.

None of that was very appealing to me - and I suspect the majority of vapers - as many of those mod makers have since gone out of business.

I don't want to speak for Don29palms but suspect that he may have been saying that if you still want to spend a lot of money on a machined battery tube, there's a lot to be had from the Philippines and they will be happy to take your money.

Edit: I guess Don answered - I'm a slow typist. :)

I just want something that is super cool and good looking for myself and that also WORKS.

You can't go wrong with dicodes mods then. There's a 21700 Dani if you want more capacity.

Wow it really is a rabbit hole. I was taking a look. I will say if you go custom, get an Evolv board, I guess if you want dual battery, the 250 c. You could get a gold G class Yihi mod, it's two battery and PLENTY expensive although they have come out with a ton of interesting finishes.

It's... IDK I might start at the "top" of the vaping heap which means a DNA mod with two batteries. Find out how you like the VAPE and then if you want to go hog wild with something insane and custom, you will know what's in it and how it vapes. Etc.

I did not start out vaping with a dicodes mod, let me put it this way. Some of my very favorite mods are not SO expensive. Etc.

Best of luck in your search.

Hello everyone. I've been vaping for almost half an year now and I've been absolutely loving it. I started with an aspire starter kit, then went to an aegis legend kit with a sub-ohm tank and now I've got 3 different RTAs (Zeus X,Profile RTA and Aromamizer Lite). As you can see I'm quite hooked on vaping / building in general. Over the past few months I've avoided making topics with stupid questions in them and have basically read and watched all the informative vids out there. As far as mainstream products go there is abundance of information and it's pretty easy for anyone to find their way.

Now to the issue at hand: While watching a review I came across a high end tube mod ( Dani 25 ) and I realized there is a whole `nother level to this ballgame. I want to get into high end attis and mods made in the west but it's hard to find even a list of high end brands let alone reviews on all of those. Basically my question to you is : If I have money burning in my pocket and I want to buy something cool how do I know what's good and what's basically a ripoff?

While I'm fine taking the risk of buying a defective/not very good 30$ tank, it would be an absolute disaster if I were to buy something 10 times that price that's garbage.

Do you guys know any sources that review high-end stuff exclusively and any specific brands I can look at?

@order, the biggest question is do you use TC? As that is what high end chipsets excel at, so if you use wattage or power they may not be necessary.

Dovpo Topside Carbon or Lost Vape Drone may interest you for Squonk mods, as they're expensive but not excessively though.

Vsticking and Pioneer4you do some interesting YiHi chipset mods at very reasonable prices.

And Atmizoo makes some interesting RBA's, Tripod seems a great RTA. I've been playing around with an Ulton clone and it is a 1:1 reproduction and it's been very enjoyable. And at 22mm wide will fit on a lot of mods and it also the ability to convert between MTL or DTL with various inserts (definite frankenvape contender).

And with RDA's I have heard of their Creek RDA mentioned a lot, I'm sure folks have mentioned it in the Shinyitis thread. Just wish I could get hold of a reasonably priced clone just to get a feel of them.

Oh yeah I saw your list even before I posted the thread. It's meticulous and I'm sure it's helpful for people that know what they're looking for but it doesn't help my situation. I can't google every single mod/ tank that I've not heard of just to see what it looks like and what its price bracket is.
All you really need to know, before looking at the listings", for the list to be helpful to you is a brand name such as "Purge Mods" / "Comp Lyfe" / "Avid Lyfe" / "Broadside Mods" etc, or "Svoemesto". Just scroll to the brand and google a device.

So having a brand in mind is the best way to start. That's why the lists are "alphabeticalized brands" and not alphabeticalized devices.

If the lists focused on "devices" in alphabetical order you'd never find anything using it. It'd be useless because you'd need to know what device you were looking for to start with. And if you already knew that then you wouldn't need the list in the first place.

IMHO, at that wattage you only need a single 18650 mod. Lots of choices in good 18650 batteries to choose from, too.

There's far less mods to choose from that use a 21700 and less choices of good 21700 batteries.

Good luck in your search. :)

I really like the look of those Asmodus Lustro resin mods. I might buy one of those + they're dual 18650s. They're not DNA's true but I've not heard anything bad about the brand.

I did a review of the regular Lustro, but I have the Kodama version as well. They work the same, but the Kodama (stabwood) is a bit larger and heavier.

AsMODus Lustro review by Delores
Personally, I like the chipset, but I do not want to have to update any mod. I use them as is right out of the box. I think the AsMODus menu is fairly easy to learn.

That said, I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, and you might also look for less flattering reviews.

@order for high end RTA's have a look at the Atmizoo Tripod and their RDA the Creek. I have a couple of each and they are excellent. Atmizoo also sells all the spares for each.

Also have a look at SvoeMesto they have some excellent H.E. RTA's. Of their currently available atty's I have their Prime's, Kayfun [lite] 2019's and Kayfun 5. Spare parts are sold for each.

The Dvarw RTA (MTL and DL) is excellent but can be very difficult to find in-stock. Same with the Hussar Project X. Both sell out quickly. However you can get excellent clones of those from Fasttech.

Coppervape Dvarw MTL there is also a DL version. FT also sells spare parts and larger tank sections.

Coppervape Hussar Project X. FT sells some spares and a 4ml tank extension.

Good luck and welcome to ECF! :thumb:
