Hi all,

Got my first pro vape setup last Tuesday (as opposed to the Blus I was halfheartedly trying) and i am trying today to make it through without "cheating" with an analog.

Had a pack from last Tuesday that I made last till yesterday, but wanted to see if I could get through a day without. So far so good, but I confess I am a bit edgy. A pack a day smoker for 26 years - old habits die hard.

Anyway, just wanted to share, as I know many other here are in the same boat.

Vapilicious I smoked over a pack of cigs for over 25 years too. Never thought I'd quit. Giving up cigarettes was like giving up an old friend in a way - or that's what it felt like to me.

I started with the same strategy you did. Try to make it through one day - then another. I struggled a bit over time - occasionally smoked a cig - but kept reaching for my ecig when I felt the urge to smoke.

When I "fell off the wagon" so to speak I went right back to vaping. I can't even remember the last time I smoked.

Best of luck to you.:toast:

You may wish too try a higher nicotine level this is what got me thru .
Definitely this. I started vaping with mediocre-tasting 6mg juice from a local store, which was obviously a mistake. After that I tried a bottle of higher-quality 24mg juice and this made a world of difference, even though it was a bit harsh on the throat. Now I'm back to 12mg and everything is going fine.

Good luck!

Congrats. You can do it. Like my daughter says....chain vape until the urge goes away. It works for me. Good luck!

Don't make yourself uncomfortable. Have a smoke without remorse if you're so inclined. If you avoid 20-30-40 cigs today, but have ONE, it's not the end of the world or your life.

I was in your shoes over 3 years ago as a 1-1/2PAD smoker for 25+ years. Took me over 3 weeks to go smoke free. I DIDN'T EVEN WANNA QUIT SMOKING! It just happened. I told myself "This will do to get me past the urge." If the urge was overwhelming, I had a smoke. I finally walked around for a week with a half-pack of smokes without the urge to smoke. I knew I was done.

You're on your way to being smoke free. When you get there, you'll know. If you're there, congratulations!

Just tried smoking an analog for comparisons sake, and it was kind of interesting.

- I couldn't get it going at first because my drawing style has accustomed to vaping (very weak draw in comparison to a cig)
- The smoke was so hot! It's already warm in my room and it felt like I was breaking a sweat just by inhaling the hot smoke
- Using a proper cigarette draw, it was hard not to gag from the taste, very uncomfortable
- The only satisfying part was the nic buzz, something I don't seem to get from vaping

So yeah, no thanks. :p

A few things I've heard help a lot of people are 1) if you can stand menthol or clove, both of those give a lot more 'feel' like smoking. I started out with Fire and Ice which gives a huge chest and throat hit. 2) Find a strong flavor you really like. This makes the analogs taste really awful. And that's the third one. 3) Analogs are going to taste nasty, but to help this get really cheap ones, let 'em get good and stale and if you want to put it out, do so. Relighting an analog makes it taste exceptionally disgusting, especially compared to ejuice.

I've also seen some people make an easier transition if they vape something that's not tobacco. It makes the analogs taste even worse.

My last analog, blech. I finished it just because I didn't want it sitting there, but nah, just remembering how bad it tasted is enough to for me to leave the last few in that pack. Now I do still smoke a pipe on occasion, but there's no 'need' to do it, it's just something I enjoy like an occasional adult beverage. I might even get a tin of really good cigarettes/cigarillos, because they do taste good. But again, it's not a 'need' thing but rather something I like.
