So this is just a trial run...it DOES work, but it's not complete by any means.

I do NOT like the plunger-thing in the bottom at all.

I used crazyhorse's pic as a guide, but his shows the spring on the bottom plunger INSIDE the cap. When I tried to use it with the spring inside the cap, it wouldn't move the batts upward towards the atty. So, I eliminated the top spring and did it as you see on the pic. Like I said, it does work (actually, it puts out more vapor than anything I've used to date), but I just don't like the bottom plunger.

Now, what I'd LIKE to do is build it so that to activate the atty, you have to push down on the atty (like muldrick's I think?), but, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it. ETA...to clarify, I cannot figure out how to build it so that, to activate the atty, you push the atty towards the body (I don't want anything sticking out of the bottom cap).

Does anyone know how to do this?

Once again, thanks for any help anyone might be willing to offer.

Well I think you gave up to soon on the top spring. Things like this will take much trial and error to get right, spring type, size, length, tube length etc. You may not especially like the end push button but it seems like the easiest way to accomplish a no wire, no switch mod. Muldrick's solution seems much harder to implement and will require more parts, time and trials to get a decent, firm sleeved connection. Also note many aren't exactly thrilled by the way it activates either.

I assumed you've reviewed his pics and parts list.

I looked at both crazyhorse's and Muldrick's mods.

Going back to the hardware this weekend and see what kind of "things" I can use for the bottom plunger, but I think I'm going to have to order the springs. The springs I have are either WAY too strong or the wire gauge used to make it is too small (it damn near melted).

Gonna play with both styles for a bit and see what I can come up with.

I just found this thread. You need a top spring between the battery and the atomizer connector. The bottom spring isn't necessary.

The assembly order pic I posted that shows the small spring over the plunger and inside the end cap was merely to stabilize the plunger. That spring has been eliminated and I've dealt with the plunger stability issue in another manner by making everything the proper length.

If you were melting (or heating) the top spring, it was because you had a dead short.
