Travel and Vaping TSA Regulations Official Site Explanation

I'll be flying from the East Coast to the West Coast USA and I though I would post for other users the official guidelines from the TSA website on this for ease of viewing for other members.

Electronic Cigarettes and vaping devices

The FAA prohibits carriage in checked baggage that battery-powered E-cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, atomizers and electronic nicotine delivery systems only be carried in the aircraft cabin. Check with your airline for additional restrictions. Remove all electronic cigarette and vaping devices from carry-on bags if checked at the gate or planeside.

Government has nothing to do with this, this is due to IATA regulations, which have been added to the existing regulations by an addendum in May 2015
