Tube mods question - DIY

I am not a modder - not yet at least. I am in here to learn and I have a lot of questions - this I guess being one of them.

I see so much about box mods and such, but little about making tube mods.

Is this because of costs, difficulty, availability of parts, tools, or what?

Box mods are easier to build. You need to do some amount of machine work to build a good looking tube mod. Though some of the flashlight mods seem farily easy to do. It can also be a matter of logistics. Usually, it's much easier to fit the extra stuff you want in there with a box. Battery boxes can be easily adapted so those are probably most popular.
