Just ordered e-cigarettes for BFF & myself. Hoping for the best. Been wanting to quit analog (hope I'm using the right terminlogy) for a long time. I do well with nicotine patches, but driving, after meals, or in times of high stress the hand to mouth habit drives me crazy to be fulfilled. The same is true for the BFF.
So, after reading the tutorials here and shopping off and on all day, I chose the KR808D. Wish me well, friends. I can hardly wait.
I'm so tired of hearing myself breathe at night. I'm tired of my throat feeling raw. I'm tired of spending, spending, spending, knowing I'm killing myself and endangering everyone around me.
We're ready for a change. I hope this is the change we've been looking for.

Welcome to the ECF and to vaping. Your post will probably soon be visited by one of our resident experts/vets (like Doormouse) who can give you some detailed info on the PV you picked up. Once you get settled in with equipment you like and some good juice, the analog habit will take care of itself. vaping makes smoking analogs taste gross.

We're all here to offer support and whatever information we can. Feel free to post any questions that you have. After 5 posts you can wait about an hour and then post in different sections of the forum.

Hi mamabearcoffee,

You will have an advantage going through this with your BFF. It will be interesting to find out if you will both like the same juice for example. I have been vaping for 6 weeks approximately and have noticed considerable improvement in breathing at night. I have not had an analog (yes you used that correctly) since I started down this path.

Good luck and I wish you well!..I too just quit after 25 plus years of smoking. it's been a month for me without a smoke and I feel great!.

I also had those wheezing chest sounds while sleeping...very bad. Also, I had a bad cold and I couldn't breathe through my mouth since my nose was stuff up and I knew it was due to my smoking. That cold was what did it for me to quit...just imagin gasping for air and you can't breath!..not a good feeling.

Good luck and you'll love vaping!!...it's 100 times better then smoking real cigs!

Welcome mama. I dunno if this has been touched on for y'all or not but vaping is not like smoking a cigarette. I'm sure if you read enough or watch some of the videos that are available, you will understand this better. However, it does replicate many of the habits that you have when smoking(something in your hand) thus it is a much better alt. (IMO) to smoking then say a patch or the gum. As with some of the posters above me, i was able to put away the analogs on my first day of vaping and have not had any desire to go back . . .at all. Good luck to both of you!

Also, if you haven't already, take a peek at some of the threads on how to vape. It took me a minute to get used to slowing down and not taking quick puffs like a cigarette.

I just stopped analogs 8 days ago and I am using a Halo KR808D1 and love it. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 40 years and this is one of the best things I ever did for myself.
Sense of smell is back, food tastes better, house doesn't stink, don't cough @ night, no ashtrays to empty, no lighters to buy ...... it's great.
Had company over for Thanksgiving, vaped in the house, no one was offended. The benefits of vaping are tremendous and after one week,
my starter kit has paid for itself and I still have plenty of juice.
