Twisted coil option on Steam Engine?

Has anyone used this option yet?

Its asking the "twist pitch", it says for a fairly accurate approximation one should measure 10 ridges and divide by 10. Does that mean in a straight length or from loop to loop in the coil once its wound? Im guessing it means ridges in a straight length but Ive been wrong before.

when you twist the wire the twists creates bumps or ridges, (threads if a screw) in the NOW twisted wire. You count 10 of those bumps, measure that length of wire, and divide by 10. So if you have 10 ridges in 10mm that's a pitch of 1mm..
