I'm thinking about jumping from an Ego to a Provari and skipping all the PV's in between. I've got a couple of questions for those in the know... Is there much of a difference between the 2.0 on clearance and the current 2.5's? and is it better to get the batteries and charger sold by Provape or better to go with fasttech or a US supplier for better quality/price?

The only difference between v2.0 and v2.5 is a cosmetic change in the steel body's engraving. The inner electronics are exactly the same.

The only thing I'd order from Provape with the Provari would be the battery extension cap to be able to use the longer lasting 18650 battery. At time of purchase, you are also offered to extend the 1 year warranty to two years total. I didn't bother with that because the Provari is one of the most trouble-free APVs that you can buy. Provape will continue to service your Provari for a reasonable fee even after your warranty has expired.

I suggest buying your batteries, and a good quality battery recharger if you need one, from RTD Vapor http://www.rtdvapor.com/online-store/batteries a US vendor that specializes in selling genuine brand-name batteries. Of course, with the standard Provari you'll need the red AW IMR 18490 battery, and the red AW IMR 18650 battery if you get the battery extension cap. Be sure to order the "button top" variety.

For a charger, the Pila, Nitecore, and Xtar chargers are most recommended. Battery chargers at RTD Vapor

Should you need drip tips for your juice delivery devices, RTD has one of the larger selections available online. http://www.rtdvapor.com/online-store/drip-tips

High on Vaping
1) V 2 and V2.5 are the same apart from the design, they changed the look one 2.5
2) Only use IMR AW batteries with the Provari, use a good charger too, something like the Nitecore I2 is a good one.
You can either buy the batteries and charger from Provape or get them from another vendor as most vendors stock them

Just order the batteries at the same time or sooner. Provape shipped my full size Satin in like two business days, I had it in less than a week, and I live in VA.

RTD is a great vendor for all things battery related. I second the sage advice of Baditude.

I ordered one 18650 AW from ProVape, cause I never want to get a mod and have lack of batteries prevent its usage.

Yup, and I just ordered a whole set up. Should have waited a couple of days. Maybe I'll get more batts.

Call them and tell them. I bet they give you the discount if you ask really nicely. Very customer oriented, those folks at ProVape. Its worth a shot!

Thanks for the suggestion, that's a good idea. But you know, it would only be about $15 bucks. What I think I'll do is go for the extension cap and a few bigger batts and maybe another accessory. I was wondering if I made a mistake not getting the cap during the original order. Maybe the 5% will pay for the shipping. Thanks again.

Everyone telling you to go to RTD Vapor is right on. They have the best chargers & batteries. They also have the best price on AW brand IMR batteries. You can get a Nitecore charger for less off the net, but RTD gives service to their customers & that is worth a lot.

louis
ps I have a Pila & it has never charged any battery over about 4.0 volts & that takes a long time.

I've had an order Pending there for quite a longish time (relatively speaking). I don't know what the hold up is, though.

That's unusual. Have you checked the status of your order on the site? One of the vendors I order from doesn't send shipping notices, it might be RTD, I don't remember.

It says something about an e-check but I've never used an e-check that I know of. However, I'm giving it another day or so before I bother them with questions.

They are quite nice (I'm blanking on the guy's name), I'm sure you could just give them a ring and ask what's up.

Now is AW the only kind I can use or can I go for the Panasonics? I love Panasonic products

It needs to be a button top battery. It needs to be a high drain battery (IMR or hybrid). (un-protected)

The Panasonic 18650CH 2250mah or the 18650PD 2900mah will work. Don't bother with the 18650B 3400 mah battery, it is not high drain and only has a 6.8 amp rating.

I just received my Xtar VP1 charger today, ....nice! I read the little instruction book that came with it but didn't see what I thought I read somewhere as to what amp setting to use, it appears it has a .25 to 1.0 setting. What should I use to not "shock" the batteries? I have all 3 sizes of AW batteries for the provaris'....I have it set to .5 as of the moment but wanted to know when to change the setting for what conditions. Thanks

The smaller 18350 batteries are sensitive to too much voltage too quickly. If you are fortunate to have a charger that is adjustable, use the lower setting to charge the 18350 batteries. It may take a little longer to charge them this way, but they will like it better and will reward you with a longer life expectancy.
