Well I am gonna try it.. I'll soak a bit of a pouch of pipe tobacco that I've got in the Fridge ( always put my ciggies in the fridge and the pipe tobacco went in there too) and then cut it and give it a try... So next week if I don't respond to anything on the forum, you'll know I screwed up and died *LMAO*

It really is not a laughing matter as it is quite dangerous to try and you will never know the nicotine content in what you made. Do what you like, but realize there is a real risk.

I am planning on cutting it so much that I'll be lucky if I even get any nicotine anyway...

please remember a few things!

Store tobacco has bad chemicals in it! You need raw tobacco leaves for pure nicotine!

Also...you don't know if melting that store tobacco down will concentrate it to lethal levels.. Cut the crap out of it with vg before you try it.

Newkirk said pure nicotine is 1010mg/ml

If this is true... You would have to cut it in half this many times to be completely safe (at least with natural clean raw tobacco)

505 253 127 64 32 16 8 4 2 0

I would mark every bottle with a permanent marker, screw the label...

If you don't have 10 bottles to test and a crap load of vg... I wouldn't do it.

If it was pure tobacco I would cut it at least 10 times and start from the last cut (0) and work your way up til you feel a hit. This is the only method I can see for a DIY to figure out a safe way to vape. Same as if I bought some potent hotmail crap underground... cut it 10 times and work your way up from the bottom in case it is stronger than you think.

I think TW's 36mg is right on... you can pretty much tell when you have hit that level. I believe no matter where you get your liquid... or how potent it is... if you cut it in half 10 times with vg.. you should be at 0-1mg potency Thus avoiding certain death, until you spill it and drop some on your hand and kill yourself.

So basically, the e-cigs fate lies on if its determined to be tobacco product or a drug......

soooo if it's a tobacco product we've got the government to deal with

but if its a drug we've got the FDA to deal with.....

I am so tired of it I just want to know if they've determined what it is already so I'm not pulling my hair out thinking I'm not getting supplies again.

They already made a mistake calling it e-cigs vs. PVs, that would of helped our case a bit you think? When you hear the word cig, you think of a tobacco product.

Because cigarettes are legal I don't see how they can make vaping illegal unless they find it more unhealthy than cigarettes. And they should not stop something that they know nothing about. They should not call it safer but instead let us vape at our own risk until they figure it all out. 18 and up, childproof caps, keep away from pets and children.. sell only 36mg and less. It's not really all that different than caffeine. I was going to die smoking anyways... I might as well take the risk of dying by vaping instead.. It is much more pleasant.

Yep.... I can see it now...

I want to die with the taste of chocolate, or peaches and cream lingering in my mouth to remind me of my last pleasant experience. That is how I want to be remembered:

There is the possibility that Judge Leon will rule that it doesn't belong in either the drug or tobacco categories, and put it in another category.

We shouldn't even be having a conversation like this, about government control. This is the U.S.A., where everyone has the right to do their own thing, whether smart or stupid, just as long as we don't harm anyone else!

we don't have any rights who are you kidding

I know it, we don't have many rights anymore. We still have the right to complain, but for how long. They are turning the Constitution into a worthless piece of paper!!

I'm glad that I'm not young, I don't want to be around to see what the future is going to be like!!

I agree. I grew up believing this was the greatest country in the world. Because that's what we were taught. I await technology but I dread future laws and policy.

I agree... even by the time I'm in a scooter (that flies hopefully by that time lol) they'll have to kill me to get my PV.

Now wait a minute ladysolitary85!! I may be getting old, but I'm not ready for the scooter. I walk two to three miles, several times a week and in the summer I ride a bicycle (it's electric assist), but I still have to pedal it!

(not angry, only kidding) lol. :)

The "Terminator" has just terminated a bill that would have outlawed the electronic cigarette.

With a bold and decisive stroke of his pen, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may have put to rest a bill that would have banned the electronic cigarette from the state of California. This action by the Governor has put this bill back in the hands of lawmakers to either try to get to a 2/3 majority to override the veto or re-write the bill so that it just regulates the age restrictions, which would have likely passed and been signed without any problems.

"We do not mind regulation" states Tiffany Ellis of E-Cigarettes National, "We just do not want them banned, and like the Governor stated, it should be left to the discretion of the adult choosing to use them, not policy makers." Like Ellis, most suppliers and retailers claim that they do not mind regulation and age restrictions, but strongly oppose any bans to the e cigarettes that they use and market to the public.

The message sent to the lawmakers by the Governor was clear and explained his motives in full concerning the rights of the people and current litigation on the matter in a federal court or law. Below is a copy of the message sent back to state lawmakers.

To the Members of the California State Senate:

I am returning Senate Bill 400 without my signature.

While I support restricting access of electronic cigarettes to children under the age of 18, I

cannot sign a measure that also declares them a federally regulated drug when the matter is

currently being decided through pending litigation.

Items defined as “tobacco products” are legal for anyone over the age of 18. If adults want to

purchase and consume these products with an understanding of the associated health risks, they

should be able to do so unless and until federal law changes the legal status of these tobacco

products.

For this reason, I am unable to sign this bill.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger

"I believe it shows wisdom on the Governors part by understanding that just because an arm of the government "declares" something illegal does not in fact mean that it is illegal and should be banned. We applaud the Governor for acting on the understanding that the FDA does not have the ability to "declare a law", but rather, they are an instrument and enforcement arm of the laws that are made and decided on by our judicial system and lawmakers" says Ellis, " It is about time a high level politician stood up for the rights of the people of the United States, and not for government and special interest."

Only time will tell if the lawmakers of California will get the message from the people and the governor and halt any attempts at banning e cigarettes prior to a federal ruling, or pushing for a 2/3 vote to override the governor and the people of California.
