I'm using a Kanger Aerotank with my iTaste MVP, and it seems like I'm having issues again.

My first aerotank completely fell apart in my hands and so my store swapped it for another. I've only been filling the tank halfway with juice and it would start making a gurgling noise. I'd also be getting very weak hits.

I cleaned out the coil and all the juice throughly from each piece of the clearomizer getting out all of it that I can.

Still gurgled after filling it back up again, also halfway, so I know I'm not flooding the tank. This was strawberry cream flavored.

The store swapped it out again because they thought I had a bad unit.

So, I got home, filled the tank halfway with strawberry cream and it was working perfectly. Amazing hits.

I vaped all the strawberry cream, and I figured, because I was using a glass clearomizer, I wanted to give apple a shot.

The flavor is spicy, and the juice tastes very thick even though the consistency seems normal... and after rinsing everything, the gurgling and weak hits.

What could be going wrong? Thanks for any insight :)

What ratio of juice are you using? Also, many dessert and sweet juices have sweeteners added that can gunk up a coil sooner than other liquids would.

It's 80/20, as to which part is VG/PG I dunno, I don't remember. Good to know though :) Though I've not really had a problem with strawberry cream until the Aerotank, I've always been using it in an EVOD with no isssue. Hmm. I'll try filling the tank all the way and see where that gets me. :)

Nautilus Aspire vs Kanger Protank/Aerotank wins every time ;) completevape.com has em for @$28 shipping included. No gurgle, they draw air from the side, not the base so no more juice dribbling on your mod's threads and it's awesome on a MVP

I'll keep the aspire in mind, but I think I'm going to try to see how to best make this thing work. I'm getting good performance from having it 3/4 full (I'm still scared of filling it up all the way) and it seems to have stopped gurgling. I'm pretty sure it'll start gurgling again though, but when I switch back to strawberry I'll change out the coil.

It is normal for apple to seem this harsh though, right? Sometimes it stings a little in the throat hit. I'm used to the softness of strawberry cream. My watts are at 7 and my volts are at 3.8. Would adjusting this help somewhat? I felt like that was my sweet spot for the other flavor.

I always try to stand up my unit as much as possible - as I said my aerotank is screwed onto my iTaste MVP so that makes it super easy. I'll keep it propped up inside my cupholder in my car if I'm driving with it.

Thanks again, guys :)

Unscrew the aerotank from the base while it's attached to your mod/ecig upside down (as to keep the juice from leaking out- also make sure that the tank is all twisted together snug) and then make sure that the coil housing is screwed into the base tightly. After that, screw the base back on upside down (again, snug but not too tight) and then flip it over and try it out.

In my experience all versions of the kanger pro tanks and even the aero Tank have issues with flooding and gurgling constantly! no matter what I tried nothing worked to fix it. I have two Protank v2, an aero tank, and I tried everything under the sun to make them work and gave up. The only ones that work sometimes are the small kanger T3 tanks, and even those flood occasionally in my mouth.. I was really hoping the aero tank would work, but it floods and gurgles just like the protanks. After four months of getting juice in my mouth constantly i bought a nautilus aspire and a Russian 91%. The forum is littered with posts talking about Protanks flooding, so I know it's not just me. I totally love this Nautilus aspire, since the first day I tried it until now I've never had any issues at all, zero! I love to tinker and try to fix things and it's really hard to make me give up on something. But I'm so glad I gave up on the pro tanks. The Nautilus aspire has come down in price, and if you buy a five pack of atomizers they are not that expensive. I've been vaping about two weeks on my first atomizer that came with it is still working great. I noticed with the kanger tanks, there's so many variables to get it to work or not work, the thickness (vg) of the juice is important and how much is filled to the top is important also. And you've also got to deal with the fact that the protank air hole is poorly placed. I never had a problem with the protanks leaking out the outside, only problem I've ever had with them is flooding to the point where I'm getting juice in my mouth. I would highly recommend trying the aspire, there's a lot of people here who switched and it's a huge improvement designwise. also I'd try cartomizers, they're very inexpensive and super easy to fill, and never ever gurgle or have any problems.

Kanger BCC tanks are very nice. Don't give up on them yet. I have the ProTanks 1, 2, Aero and the mini 2. And other Kangers--T3s, eVod, T2--never had a leak. I swear... I hear that the new Aerotanks Mega and Mini are even better--Phil Busardo thinks that they taste better than the Aspires, which I happen to like also, BTW.

In the meantime, check this list--maybe you'll find a solution to your problem there. Good luck!

Kanger Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time. If your liquid is super thin, you can thicken it with a bit of VG (USP--pharma grade) or you can add another strand of cotton to your flavor wick. Don't add too much or you'll choke your atomizer and get a dry hit.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattages; I like 5.5-7 watts.

Good luck!

To fix the gurgling, it a 5 pack of protank 2 coils (single coil) and screw them right into the aerotank. Problem solved. The dual coils that come with the aerotank are absolute garbage.

The newer protank 2/mini coils do fit into the new aerotanks. Some of the older batch of kanger single coils have less threading and do not fit new kanger tanks.

My friend and I both have protank 2 minis. His coils do not fit into my tank. I believe at some point kanger standardized all their coils to fit in all of their tanks. Another friend ordered a 5 pack of single coils and they were slightly different. The new coils totally blocked any airflow thru his protank 3. I told him to buy an aerotank adjustable airflow base and put the same coil in it. Works like a charm. He must have had a older batch of protank 3

I have a kanger protank 2 that up until recently would gurgle & flood no matter what I did. I swear I tried every fix to this that I found on this forum & on google but nothing would make it work for more than a few hours. Until now!

Today I received my kanger airflow control valve (it was like $5 from my vapor store). It's basically a replacement base. I've been using it about 4 hours now, & so far there hasn't even been a hint that it might start screwing up again.

While it annoys me that I had to buy an accessory to make my other accessory work correctly, I'm grateful that it seems to finally be fixed.

All my Kanger tanks gurgle when I get to half-empty, and even a little bit sometimes when they're 2/3 full. It causes no problems to fill them, just make sure you don't get any down the center tube, which will also cause a gurgle, and even risks getting e-juice in your mouth. but if you fill to *JUST* below the top of that center tube (when it's upside-down for filling), you should be golden. Oh, I've also had the very unfortunate experience, when letting the tank get too empty (anything less than half), of the taste of burned juice -- and that is just nasty. Those bottom coils need to be completely covered at all times, and the less juice is in the tank, the more likely you'll get that burned taste. A full tank always hits best.
