It is most likely an autoimmune issue. Smoking lowers our immune system and prevents our bodies from attacking cells in the mouth, which are most sensitive to change.

It can also be the chicken pox virus (I hate the H word). Smoking kept the virus in remission and now that your immune system is getting back to normal, it can act up.

SO. CAL
Or a drip tip.
:thumb: Just started on a drip tip today and I don't think I'll ever go back to any type of carts again! I get way better TH, flavor and VP

Google Geographic Tongue.

You might have had it and not noticed it. It's not terribly bad.

I had to check this out. The mild cases don't seem bad at all but those severe cases are GNARLY!!!

Does anyone else get ulcers on their tongue from vaping? I've been vaping for about a week and noticed an ulcer or some sort of sores on each side of my tongue. This usually happens when I eat really salty or sour things, but I have done neither of these things. vaping is the only thing I can imagine it being caused from

I get them but its usually in combination with intaking more acids...tomatoes, oranges vinnegrette type salad dressings. They are an annoyance to be sure but I used to get them a lot as a kid and then my body seemed to adjust to my diet. I imagine it will pass. You can always talk to your doctor which you should if you are concerned. I don't go to my doctor unless I think I'm dying...lol ( that's a slight exageration but you get the idea)

i have an ugly on my tounge this morning too :( It looks like my taste buds are turning white and getting volcanic. eww.

Are you new to vaping as well? This sounds like what I got when posted this thread. I had one on each side of the tongue. They started off as little, white bumps that looked like irritated taste buds and they got bigger and nasty-looking. They were gone by the next day. I've been trying new flavors (along with the flavor I had when I got the irritated areas) and I haven't noticed any coming back. Whatever it was, it was temporary. I'm hoping it doesn't become a common issue O.O

YES! this is the same thing. I'm pretty darn new to vaping. Mine is right on the tip of my tounge and looks sick right now. Like giant ugly taste buds and I think if i look at them again I'm going to dry heave. Glad yours went away! hope mine does quickly.

I'm guessing it had something to do with vaping tons of the menthol flavor. When I switched to other flavors mixed with the menthol, I haven't had any problems since. This black horsepower flavor messes with my allergies a lot as well. Makes my throat sore in the morning and makes my eyes burn and get watery and itchy, but if I vape multiple flavors along with it in the same day, I don't have this problem. I've been having heartburn problems as well. I LOVE vaping and I've been told that all of these problems are pretty common and not very serious and that they should pass with some time. Sure enough, it's been getting better with some flavor experimenting and with a little time to adapt. It'll obviously take some getting used to xP

B.S. Not a documented affect PG as far as I know. Don't waste your money buddy. Enough people will get you spend your paychecks on this stuff as it is.

Documented or not that was mine and a couple of family members experience. You can get 1 tiny sample of a VG juice and vape only that for the day and wake up the next morning and see how you feel.
Anyways it's not the PG per say but the fact PG doesn't buffer the nicotine as well as VG does. Nicotine is an irritant.

Canker sores (these ulcers we are taking about) appear where there has been irritation in the mouth.

PG is a known irritant.

I have been getting these ulcers at a rate of 2 a week. About 2 weeks ago, I switched to only VG juices, takeing the hit and suffereing through a high volume of Boba's Bounty and Gorrila juice, its hard, really.
I have had only 1 show up within 2 weeks. This doesn't prove anything on its own, but several others have reported the same thing.

Is PG the only Culprit? No, not at all.
Nicotine is an irritant, several flavors, like cinomman can be.

This is an ulcer and something called lie blisters (inflamed white taste buds). gross, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any for the time being. who needs to eat when you can vape anyway? lol.

If my information is correct, (EDIT: evidence points to my info Not being correct ) lie blisters are a form cold sore. Cold sores are caused by, well, nothing related to vapeing or quiting smokeing.

Lie blisters are just irritated taste buds, not cold sores. They are just caused by irritation via well....anything! Never actually had them before, I couldn't figure it out. They are healing though!
