Hi All,

I hope you are having a good day. :)

I'd really love some advice. I'll start with a super quick back story so you know my situation.

I quit smoking in December. I moved over to an e-cigarette by the brand e-lites, then after a while I felt ready to ditch the nicotine but not the habit and I am now using (and really enjoying) the 5 Colours 0mg nicotine disposable e-cigarettes.

I am now ready to move on to the next step because I would like to continue vaping. I want to buy some different flavoured e-liquids and I've found a website with some great flavours & decent prices. :2cool:

But kit wise, I don't know where to start. I've seen the e-go kits online, although there seems to be a few and I'm not sure which one is right for me...

Can you all offer some advice on what would be a good purchase? I hope I've provided enough information but if there's anything else you need to know - just ask.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Answer these questions and we'll be in a better spot to help you:

1. Does your e-cig need to resemble a traditional cigarette? If yes, go immediately to the smokeless image page and order one of their starter kit options. They are well reviewed here and provide quality at a reasonable price. They provide an easy way to get into vaping. You can order prefilled cartomizers or try filling them yourself.

2. Do you prefer an e-cig with longer and a fatter battery? Maybe the size of a sharpie? Ok, what you want is an Ego battery or an Ego clone such as the Kgo. You can get either filler type cartomizers or you can get wicking cartomizers. Both types can be had at either Hoosier e-cig supply or My Vapor store for very reasonable prices.

Do you homework for sure, but really you need to jump in and get a decent kit. Once you have this initial stuff in your hands we can all help you from there if you find you like this or that or dont like this or that, recommendations can be made.

Good luck.

I bought an ego-C starter kit about 3 months ago and quite quickly found that I didn't need/like half of what came with it. When a friend wanted to start we got the useful pieces apart from the kit and upgraded the other parts. The kit comes with annoying little cartridges that are a pain to refill (I found that out on day one), the atomizers were weak too. I'm still using the 2 ego-C 650 batteries and the charger - that's all. I think you too will quickly prefer a tank to hold more liquid and less fussing.

What I'd reccommend:
2 - eGo-C 650mA Batteries (3.7V)
1 - USB wall adapter
1 - USB eGo battery charger
1 - Kanger CC eGo Clearomizer (Tank) (or Similar)
1 - Kanger CC eGo Clearomizer Coil Heads (5-Pack) (or Similar depending on above)
e-Juice(s) of your taste.

It's a good and relatively inexpensive starting point... like I said mine is still going great for me after three months. And in that time I've been researching and educating myself on the plethora of upgrades, mods, etc available for the long-term.

Hello Shelly01,

When I bought all my stuff back at the beginning of December i was overwhelmed bey everything there was out there. i was looking at Kits but then decided against it. I found i could buy stuff that had really good reviews for just a little more. I ended up going with 2 ego twist and some kanger T2 and T3 clearos. They are very forgiving and i think great for starting out and even long term.

My only warning it is addictive, im constantly seeing people talking about different hardware that i want to try.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies!

1. Does your e-cig need to resemble a traditional cigarette?

No, not at all. In fact I've spied some rather super looking pieces of kit on other threads on these forums. I'm quite happy for it to look 'other worldly.'

2. Do you prefer an e-cig with longer and a fatter battery? Maybe the size of a sharpie?

I'm not at all bothered.

So looks wise, I'm absolutely not concerned. :)

In terms of being a newbie, I'm at the absolute basic level. The reason why people tend to buy the kits is because it's quite overwhelming at first in terms of equipment required.

Apologies but I'm not sure what an atomizer / tank / cartomizer / clearomizer is. Is there something you can direct me to in order to read up on these items in laymans terms?

Everything you need for your first month vaping right here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-2.html#post8306912

Choice between two reputable brands of variable voltage eGo batteries.

Direct vendor links for the batteries, charger, and optional wall adaptor.

Choice between two easy-to-use juice carrying devices.

Links to two e-juice vendors that offer flavor sample packs.

The gear can be purchased from two reputable and popular ECF vendors for less than $100.

No knockoff imitations of genuine brands that may have inferior performance.

Thank you kindly for the links.

I'm in the UK but the lingo seems the same as I can pick up these items online over here & I know some juice vendors over here that do sample packs.

My main bone of contention however is understanding what these parts are, how they work together and what they do. I'm yet to find a good resource to get my head around this properly. There's a lot of 'jargon' that I'm trying to get past.

I would suggest starting off with a smoke tech tank and boge low resistance cartomizer and an ego battery. I would suggest that you find a vape store that has good rating on yelp one with helpful staff and go there and ask them for help. Yes, you would pay a couple extra dollars than what you would pay online however their knowledge is invaluable and for what they offer it is worth it to pay the extra couple dollars. When I first started I went to a store in my neighborhood called vapor bombz. I looked them up on yelp and they had excellent reviews from every customer that went there. They showed me how to setup my device, how to fill the tank and what each part of the piece did. The vapor products do have a bit of a learning curve. If you're pretty ballsy you can always look up all the information online or on youtube and save a couple bucks by buying online however I feel the shop is the way to go. Find a shop go and tell them that you would like to buy an ego battery a tank and a cartomizer and a tip and ask them to show you how to set everything up. Test out your new setup before purchasing. Happy vaping

Shelly I am in the same boat as you. All the terminology was terribly confusing. Keep reading these forums and asking questions.

Good Luck.

Try an eGo-C Twist with a Vivi Nova, this is my current setup and I have been enjoying it a lot!

The eGo Twist is the battery. The Vivi Nova is the juice carrying device where your nic-liquid goes, it also has the heating element that vaporizes the juice into vapor, and screws into the top of your battery.

I don't see any mention of a charger included with the battery, though.

Thanks Baditude.

I can't see a mention of a charger either... :glare:

Would I need anything else to get going? (other than a charger and e-iquid)

Welcome Shelly01:
ECF is the great resource you have been looking for !
(Go with an eGo 1000 mah kit...You get started vapping- and all the parts can be used when/if you upgrade) IMHO

Best to You !!!
