I don't see them allowing vaping during a movie. The vapor will bother some people's view of the movie. Maybe if you sit in the back row to the sides or have a juice that doesn't put out a thick cloud and blow it down.

Ummm... You have heard that if you hold it in for several seconds, your exhale will emit little-to-no visible vapor, right?

I went to a Hookah bar in RH yesterday night and asked if i could use my "e-cig" in there. The waitress was sort of clueless and went to ask her manager. Few seconds later she came back and said "ummmm...you can't smoke in here". She was a goldmine of useful information, let me tell you. So i went up to the manager and asked him directly if i could use my "E-Ni" or electronic nicotine inhalator. He said "Oh, dude, yea not a problem!" It was fun to watch the people smoking hookahs look at me with their heads to the side like a confused puppy. Still find it weird you can't smoke in a hookah bar though.

I just had an "everywhere" experience last week. I asked the manager of an Italian (non chain) restaurant in Kalamazoo if I could use my PV. Not only did he know about it, but he said that it was perfectly fine. I think that a lot of the non chain restaurants are trying to bring their smoking patrons and bar visitors back. The only places I've had trouble with are chain restaurants and restaurants that are family oriented. This is because the amount of anti smoking activists seems to rise with lowered prices and mass producing in my experience. It seems that all of the gas stations around here are starting to sell kits as well. This is a great sign because hopefully e-cigs will spread far enough that it will be more difficult to ban them?

I have family in Kzoo who are vapers and I have vaped in a few restaurants and bars in that area with positive results. It amazed me when I first asked if I could use it that they knew what it was. Most places I've asked in the Traverse City area don't know what they are but once they ask the management they say it is ok. Only time I've been told no were in the Red Lobster in Saginaw and a bar in the UP last summer. The bar didn't know what they were so I left info and hope to vape their when we go back this summer. Red Lobster I won't frequent again. No reason for them to say no...they allowed smoking until the Ban last summer. Wouldn't annoy me if they had been a non-smoking place prior to the ban.

I actually just found out that there is a shop located in the Kalamazoo area. That might have something to do with the openness of the restaurants to vaping. That and the fact that the smoking ban itself is still relatively new in Michigan. Many of the bar owners that I've spoken to are 100% in support of e-cigarettes because they are hoping to bring back their patrons. I'm assuming that the casinos would feel the same way.

I'm going to continue vaping in public to see what kinds of results I get and to raise awareness. The only places that I generally don't vape anymore are the supermarkets, because even when I smoked I wasn't ever allowed to smoke in a grocery store. It seems that supermarket vaping (unless done in complete stealth) is treading the obnoxious line.

Remember too that you can use the term "P.E.N.I.S." that someone else here at ECF came up with (it didn't come from me). I use it around good friends and family to get a laugh.

Personal. Electronic. Nicotine. Inhaling. System.

:thumb:

This would be as opposed to the A.S.S. (Analog Smoking System)

Was sitting in traffic court this morning, and the two gals sitting next to me were talking about their ecigs, and the various flavors they've tried and what they like. Looking at them, I think they were NJOys, but th one girl said she'd had hers about a month. Showed them my Riva when I could without seeming like a creep - they seemed impressed and asked questions :) So while not technically saw someone vaping in public, I definitely got the impression they were vapers!

I'm from that area :) and would be interested to know where they have found success :) I have a disposable (while waiting for my kit) that I've used at Fourth Coast (coffee shop that used to be a smoking coffee shop and started selling vapes when the ban hit). Not tried it anywhere else but curious where the "safe zones" are. When my kit arrives, I'll be using it at Valley. Wonder if anyone has on campus grounds.

I'm not sure if that is technically true. Hookah tobacco is wet, won't burn. It is heated indirectly by a coal on top of it, seperated by aluminium foil. In fact, you are "cooking" or "baking" the tobacco (which sometimes even isn't tobacco) and you inhale the resulting fumes. Only the coal is burning, not the tobacco.
