I'm not sure if that is technically true. Hookah tobacco is wet, won't burn. It is heated indirectly by a coal on top of it, seperated by aluminium foil. In fact, you are "cooking" or "baking" the tobacco (which sometimes even isn't tobacco) and you inhale the resulting fumes. Only the coal is burning, not the tobacco.

lol wat? The tobacco isn't burning, just magically turning into smoke that you inhale?

A hookah (South Asia: हुक़्क़ा (Devanagari), حقّہ (Nastaleeq) huqqah)[1][2] also known as a waterpipe[3] is a single or multi-stemmed (often glass-based) instrument for smoking in which the smoke is cooled and filtered by passing through water."

I went to the emergency room the other night and my hubby made me leave my Chuck in the car :(
So we get to the Dr questions and I say I don't smoke anymore but I do still get my nic fix, hubby decided to say "Oh no, you do smoke!" Gah I had to tell him about my PV and that no I don't bloody smoke! The Dr had never heard of it but the nurse had, he said his brother in law uses one and I told the Dr what was in it and he said, but does it work? I said yup, no cigs since August :) He was impressed that it worked and had no bad things to say about what was in it :)
After all that I could have taken it inside, and I couldn't convince hubby to go out and get it for me :(

I recently went to my Dr's office, and explained about my e-cig. He was really intrigued, and asked me a lot of questions about it. I was amazed when he actually asked if he could try it right there in the exam room! So I opened a new cart, dripped on the atty, and let him try it. He was really impressed! He was glad that I was giving up analogs. Of course he knew the struggles I'd had with other NRT's he had prescribed, i.e. Chantix, inhalers, etc. I gave him some ECF business cards, so hopefully he's told other patients about e-cigs as well.

In December, when I had knee surgery, my vaping wasn't a problem in the hospital, either. I had asked the Head floor nurse if she had ever heard of e-cigs, and she said a lot of patients used them. What a relief! I wasn't looking forward to just using a nicotine patch while I was there. Even my roommate was curious. And she wasn't a smoker!

IMHO, I think as more people become aware of the benefits of e-cigs, it will be more accepted by the public at large.

Happy Vaping! :)
