tigger...I can only report
my results of course...
My usual (satisfying) e-juice is
6mg-nicotine. When I try to move up to
9mg-nicotine...I get nauseous and light-headed...
Aroma was the first WTA I ran across and...after trying their different strengths...am
QUITE satisfied with their
24mg-WTA...
When I then (later) ran across Umbavape...I started with their
24mg-WTA...but it was too strong (nauseous and light-headed) for me...
After experimenting...I found that Umbavabe's
24mg-WTA (base)
plus 12mg-WTA (flavored) at a 1:1 mixture =
18mg-WTA gave
me the
same increased mental clarity and energy that Aroma's 24mg-WTA does...
(If interested...yesterday I posted a comparison between Aroma, Umbavape and Omvapors:
Tootle Puffers, Part Three! (The Sequel of the Redux) )
[In thinking about it...since you're at 3mg-nicotine...(and I'm happy with 6mg-nicotine)...I'd guess a good place to start would be at
one-half the mg-WTA that I found enjoyable.]
..
Wow, really helpful replies everyone, thank you!
@gerrymi -- if you normally vape 6mg, what made you try 24mg WTA? Was it a strong throat hit? I'd be afraid to even try something that high, lol. I read that since it contains nic we should just mix WTA in at the same strength, is that not the case? I thought I read that you (can) increase the mg strength with salts but WTA would be about the same as you normally vape.
So interesting to see the differing results. Fred is convinced Umba is not WTA, Gerry feels like it's actually stronger than Aroma's (but I wonder if this could be attributed to incorrect nic strength on bottle and not necessarily WTA strength/quality), and if I'm not mistaken @
stols001 felt it was just slightly less effective than Aroma. In fact she just replied while I was drafting this, so that was helpful

This is a huge example of "your mileage may vary." I wonder if Fred is onto something -- has anyone compared Umba to nic salt directly to see if they get the same (or close to) results?
I think I'm going to try both Umba and Aroma and see what I can extract from the experiment myself as well.
As for Umba's customer service and shipping issues, there was
a pretty lengthy explanation on Reddit from their partner, Om. It's a good read, it also explains their relationship with Umba. TLDR: Om handles Umba's production and shipping. Ben, owner of Umba, handles CS and Marketing for Umba himself. He had a sale without talking to Om about production, chaos ensued. They've apparently just upgraded equipment, software, and procedures, etc, and are in talks with Ben to hand over Umba's CS to OM as well, so seems it'll get better (they are reporting it already has.) Ben seems to have his hands full already and just had twins, so he needs the break lol. We'll see how quickly/slowly my order is sent.
Having seen this, though, I would have to think the WTA from both Om and Umba are from the same source. Om is having a massive 75% off e-liquids sale right now, so maybe I'll try some of that as well. The unflavored WTA isn't part of the sale (bummer), but I'll consider grabbing something.
@Archane compared Aroma to Om a while back and said "Not a huge difference between the two, but i can definitely say without a doubt that they both work for me." So, excited to try everything myself!
Since I have to grab pre-flavored -- can anyone confirm/recommend the strength I should get? I'm not "satisfied" with 3mg, it's just the highest I can vape without coughing (though that may change with WTA, who knows). So if throat hit is the same or worse with WTA then I'll have to stick with 3mg (or dilute it.) Gerry is vaping much higher WTA so I'm a bit worried if I'll be able to use high enough strength for it to work for me.
I think, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is if you like it and it works for you. But I do think that peer reviews matter -- if something is a total scam or doesn't work at all we definitely need to know about it. In this particular case, the reviews are so different I think I'll just have to try them all myself. =)
